Welcome Dave Clawson - 430PM Presser (Clawson Wins Presser, OGB Gets E-Boners)

How much of Lembo's success hinges on his coordinators? We have heard good stuff about the man himself, but we ultimately really care about wins. I would hate to learn the hard way that Lembo is not the same without his current staff. Not saying he isn't the real deal, just a concern considering there is some talk that his coordinators might now be in turn for head jobs. It is a given that success will lead to our coaches getting outside offers to move up. I would just rather they provide some success at Wake before we "lose" them.
 
Marty is in Detroit tonight covering the MAC Championship for SI. Not exactly a shocking comment, but I figured I'd post it.

Mundy's tweets and other bullshit are ridiculous, but do we have to have this "we vs them" argument again when it comes to alums vs non-alums? It gets old.
 
Interesting comment re: the OC and timely for my question. Thank you. What do you know of the DC? Is that odd for an OC to realize they are just a good OC and not want to be a head?

Rich just doesn't want to be the political glad hander. That's Pete. Skrosky runs the offense and does it well. Bateman is similar but I don't know his aspirations.
 
reading between the lines in postgame with his mentions of program building a self-sustaining program and how proud he was of this class specifically not to mention him not denying the rumors outright it sure sounds like clawson will be coaching somewhere else next year whether that's at wake uconn or somewhere else

here are two full quotes that said a lot:

'you can build for seasons or you can build programs people were trying to run us out of town three years ago because we were 2-10 at that point we were redshirting players and we were trying to lay the foundation because when we got good we wanted to stay good a lot of people aren’t allowed to do that i’m very fortunate i have a president and an athletic director that allowed us to build a program the right way so it can sustain itself we’re good this year we just won a championship and i think we’re built to be good for a long time'

Mundy sucks because he's bad at his job, not because he isn't an alum.

I love you slothrop, but do these coaches never use punctuation? Kind of makes them look bad/weird/ironic/progressively linguistic when their quotes are just a wall of text.

No need for that at all. I just think the fact that he went to UNCC or HPU or whatever is irrelevant. You can be a great fan and have gone elsewhere/nowhere at all, or you can be a shitty fan and be an alum. We have plenty of the latter.

Someone earlier brought up his educational background. As BDZ says, his lack of talent has zero to do with where he went to school.
