Welcome Dave Clawson - 430PM Presser (Clawson Wins Presser, OGB Gets E-Boners)

Lined up in the I on the goal line and went with the big RB. Love that.

Something to consider about that play at 1:12. The quick RB #5 is a true freshman. He had 14 carries for 138 yards for 9.9 ypc. Same with #32 William Houston, the 6-0/262 RB. He previously committed as a preferred walk-on to Ohio State. He had 11 TDs.

Both could transfer to Wake and have 3 years of eligibility left starting in 2015.

Love seeing an offense that can run the spread out of the gun and the I in short yardage and be effective at both.

So he just didn't try? That's not really reassuring. Or did the team quit?

Apparently it takes a while for the offensive line to learn the Clawfense. I wouldn't be surprised if we are God awful next year with major improvement in year 3.

Saddest part of that video is it looked like BGSU had twice is many fans at the game.

Our recruiting actually got worse when our percentage of 3 stars started closing with the middling level teams in the conference. We had alot of misses out of guys who were recruited by many bowl level BCS programs.

That one class where we had the best lineman recruiting by the numbers in school history and they almost all didn't pan out really hurt us.

I still cannot fathom how Souza, Gallagher, and Booi were ALL freaking busts on the D-line. Mindboggling. ohh well, on to a new era.

From BG's coaching staff section it appears just one guy, a Dartmouth grad, oversees all of special teams.

Interesting tidbit I found: Clawson benched a healthy 3 year returning starter at QB this year (7,000 career passing yards, http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/482947 ) for a Sophomore to start the season. Worked out amazingly, as the BG offense which was bad in '10,'11,and '12 turned good this year.

Perhaps he never had a QB at BG which explains the poor offenses from 2010-2012.

I don't like responding to a troll, but that's a valid question.

I'll give him probs the first two years as passes as long as the program looks like it's building momentum and he's doing all the right things as the face of a program/etc.

While I think we will suck next year, I think our ineptitude on offense was partly talent related and partly piss poor coaching. With a halfway decent staff I think we can be competitive next year.

Does he have one at Wake?

we're going to suck out loud next season, but it certainly won't be Clawson's fault.

That's not the attitude to have. Don't doom these players to failure simply because Grobe couldn't win with them.

Speaking of players, any of them tweeting about this news?
