*IF* we get a new head coach and he decides to bring in his own assistants how would yall feel about losing Coach Battle?
 
I want them all gone. We sucked under Dino and we suck under Bz. Clean house.
 
He went through a lot of tough years at Wake. Time to move on.
 
He's had some bad luck. I'm sure he'll land on his feet. Hopefully he'll get a HC gig.

Love Battle, but he's been here as long as Grobe has - if we could let Grobe go, we can let Battle go. Time for a fresh start for both parties.
 
Will be disappointed if any of the assistants stay. Tell-tale sign of the Bz disaster was the retention of the previous staff. New coach should pick his staff, not the AD.
 
Wait, we'd lose Battle? What about Rusty or Chill? Dang... better keep Bzd then.
 
Everyone must go. That is the life of an assistant. You are cutting the legs out from underneath a new coach if you allow assistants to stay. Coming in as a new coach is like an adoption. The team has to learn that you are the source of love and discipline. There can only be one voice, and leaving assistants that have already developed relationships (good and bad) is going to muddle the process.

You might be able to keep a DBO, but in my opinion, you can't keep Rusty, Chill, or Battle on the staff.
 
Battle needs a fresh start almost as much as we do. No way he can stay, but good luck to him.

Get rid of all of them. What difference has Coach Battle made or Coach Larue made? They neither one have any fire in them just like the head coach. We need to start all over. While all these coaches may be knowledgeable about some aspects of basketball none of them can get our players to play hard all the time. Can you see this happening for a long time with Roy Williams who got things turned around this year. Or Coach K no way on heavens earth would that happen. Or how about the way that Virginia is playing for Coach Bennett? They all play defense and rebound both offensively and defensively. We played hard in about 5 games total. Everybody on the bench needs to go unless the new coach wants to keep them. It has to be his decision and not the athletic director telling the coach who he has to keep like he has done the last 2 coaches.
 
I'd feel much the same towards Battle that I do towards Grobe and Odom, though he didn't accomplish as much. It was time for each to move on, though they were great representatives of Wake Forest.
 
I'm fine with it, and I've come to grips with the prospect of losing Shelton Mitchell as well since he was close to Battle.
 
Battle has had an important roll in recruiting and signing some of our best players. He maintains a strong relationship w/ those guys and their families. His role at Wake has been pivotal and he's a great all around guy who's been through a lot at his time here. I would hate to see him go but i feel that it's inevitable.
