Rumors are the Eagles were tired of his large entourage and that he may have gang ties.
 
Short of this being an Aaron Hernandez 2.0 situation, I really don't understand this team sometimes.

any time a wide receiver with a hefty price tag and lots of baggage is available and you already have a lot of money tied up in the wide receiver corps and a qb who can't get the ball to them YOU SIGN THAT GUY
 
I think the Eagles know more than anyone else about supposed off the field issues, and it's gonna come out and be pretty bad.
 
There are also reports about him missing meetings and being consistently late to many others. I'm kinda surprised they couldn't have gotten a 2nd-4th round pick for him in the past week.

There's that, but they also have a QB who doesn't need or can't really hit the deep threat, and they just signed a better KR/PR, and they don't want to give a mega deal to a speed guy with less than great hands. I think it's probably a mix of the two.
 
It would be like the scumbag Patriots to pick up a guy associated with gang activity after already having employed a murderous gang member.
