Yep. The first mistake last time was that Bz didn't let the fans know he was going after Stevens. We just had to guess after Stevens signed the extension. The second mistake was quickly hiring Bz. At least there hasn't been a quick hire.

True, but if we really have $2.8-$3 to throw at a coach, there's no way in hell we're ending up with Chris Mooney. It would be Howland, Amaker or Mack at the absolute worst.

Sort of , at least for me, I am much more cautiously optimistic this time around and I *think* Wellman knows this go around he cannot take a risky hire.

True. I just think it would be such a let down if we don't hear anything all weekend and then a PC is announced and then it leaks that it's one of those three when we've all been praying for SS. This is how I'm justifying my optimism. No negative leak means we're still in the SS game.

I think this is the point. We might not get our A+ hire, but the chances of getting an F like Bzzz or even a C like Mooney seem much less likely this time.

Absolutely. I just think if it's not Marshall, SS, or Howland you are almost better off delaying the announcement so that fans have time to get excited about the second tier guys. It's important that this guy comes in with a lot of support. Our fanbase has taken a lot of heat, much of it unjust, but we still want to prove to people that our distaste for Bzz was simply an aberration because he was THE. WORST. COACH. AND. HUMAN. BEING.
