Official Hoops Coaching Search Thread - Welcome Danny Manning!!!

We've brought in something like five top-15 classes over the past decade, plus Johnson-Teague, which was a top ten class in retrospect. Shaka would bring in better recruits to Wake than he's getting at VCU.

Yep, you are right. I don't think I ever heard this comment the last four years. Not once.

Just twitter searched "wfu" and instead of seeing Shaka, I saw something equally pos-vibes inducing: kids tweeting about getting into wake! I love how excited they are :)

Yeah, you can find the same stuff about kids totally psyched to be accepted to VCU.

And they've probably all been right, every time. No doubt Shaka would recruit better at Illinois/Marquette/UCLA/Wake than he does at VCU. BECAUSE IT'S VCU.

I also really like that the VCU fans keep asking questions like "Why does every coaching vacancy treat Shaka Smart as a free agent?"

Really, dipshits? Probably because the rest of the country realizes that him continuing at VCU is unsustainable due to your community college quality academics, your shitty deteriorating conference, and the fact that your all-time best basketball players (the absolute gems of VCU's crop!) are Eric Maynor and Larry Sanders. Quit feigning outrage over "other school's fans having the nerve to think we don't deserve our coach" and realize that he's no more your coach than Buzz Williams was Marquette's, or Brad Stevens was Butler's, or Tim Miles was Colorado State's, or John Groce's was Ohio's. College basketball is a business. Contracts are broken. Good coaches get promotions. VCU is not special in any of these regards.

Now, I'll treat you here about as well as I was treated at VCUwhateverthefuck.com last night: Get the fuck off of our boards.

Dolphan got a question

District Baller was trolling UNLV MU and BC goons today but no mention of our 300 plus pages analyzing the whole Shaka process ? I'd be a bit insulted by his silence if I didn't think it was a good thing. Again all your coach should (doesn't necessarily need to) to do is publicly say " I love it here I'll be here for years and years blah blah " Then we can promptly drive our money truck to either Marshall or Wright

didn't VCU make its final four with an average wake forest transfer?

Yep. Sure is working out great for Groce. He is hitting out of the park. The calls for Alford have already started.....gone in two years maybe three.

You are of course talking about the people below and their great understanding of the Swahili language

Now get the fuck off of our boards.

Or Buzz was Colorado's...

So this guy thinks that the appeal of VCU actually makes Shaka a great recruiter and not the other way around? Just want to make sure I'm clear.
