Wake Forest Twitter Thread aka Coach Scheier wins the Internet

Pretty sure I was ripped for saying he wasn't that good. Had two good games.

I know I was ripped. Even his freshman year "highlight" reel was poor aside from a few runs.

Josh Harris wasn't impressive in his time at Wake, but the OL was terrible the entire time and Lobo was calling the plays his entire career.

True. But one on one against a defender, Harris lost a large majority of the time.

If he ever powered through a tackle, I never saw it and if I've missed any any second of Wake Forest football the last several years, it has been extremely little. So, either my memory is no good or he didn't. He played behind a bad OL, no doubt, but I do remember times where he was given some space where if he had been able to break or avoid a tackle, he could've still been running and he just didn't do it.

He had more than two games, but he was wildly inconsistent and not reliable. Also needed a waiver this year from the NCAA for him to even be academically eligible.

In all seriousness, did he have more than two good games against BCS teams?

J-Roc's "good" games.

2010 at VT ( 241 yards & 2 TD's on 20 carries)
2010 at Vandy (138 yards & 1 TD on 18 carries)
2011 vs. NC State (96 yards & 1 TD on 23 carries)
2011 vs. Florida St. (136 yards on 13 carries)
2012 vs. Duke (84 yards on 17 carries)
2012 vs. BC (84 yards & 1 TD on 17 carries)

For the most part we're in total agreement, I just think literally saying two good games is harsh and inaccurate.

That's fair. I only really remembered the VT and FSU games.

I think it's fair to BSD to say, BSD meant great games and left one out. The other are merely good games or par for the course for a Chris Barclay.

I get that Harris never lived up to his promise, but there is a lot of hate for a guy that suffered through what I think everyone recognizes as subpar coaching. Oline was dreadful and so was the play-calling. I don't recall him throwing other players under the bus--when did that happen? I know the kid whined about PT, but given the state of the program I tend to think that he was just frustrated and he obviously has no clue how to compartmentalize. I want the kid to make a roster to prove, once again, that we had talent but didn't use it correctly. Just like TBo.

so what? he get's a pass to be a douche b/c Lobo sucked? huh

Not at all. He's clearly trying to impress people with his numbers and draft potential. He goes overboard. I get it. He's lame, but the guy has always seemed to support Wake and I would think we'd want him to make the league. It's a bit like Travis McKie--he got a lot of hate for dogging it, but maybe he was just worn down after years of futility, spirit was broken. Harris is painful on social media, but there are more than few Wake players fit that bill. If I missed him sh*tting on other players or the school or not being a good teammate then I would probably change my stance. I think complaining about play-calling and PT should probably be excused...he certainly wasn't the only one.

I think you missed some stuff. I gave him a pass for awhile too. Not anymore.

For those that like to criticize, they find themselves in the catbird seat with Harris:

- If he makes an NFL roster and accomplishes anything, they can use that as evidence to continue the never-ending desire to trash Grobe and staff;
- If Harris is an early NFL cut or never gets signed, they can further pile on a WF athlete for having his professional dreams crushed.

It's really quite perfect.
