The Belmont is Saturday

Samraat has the perfect trip of all perfect trips in the Derby and quit like a pig. If he had come in second, you'd have a good point.

Sometimes you don't bet on the horse, you bet on the jockey. John Velasquez has always been good for me. Ride on Curlin is where I'm going.

The post position draw is Wednesday. Getting the #1 or #2 post position could be a hiccup, but with only a 10/11 horse field, it's not a death sentence.

EDIT: My bad. For some reason I got up too early and thought today was Wednesday :)

I'm on pins and needles!!!

Any NYC posters good at horseshoes? If you are, Belmont is going to be picking two people from the stands on Saturday to throw one horseshoe each. If you get a ringer, you get $1,000,000.

Still planning on hitting up Santa Anita. The track should be buzzing, and will be fun to see the crowd erupt if Chromeo can pull it off.

Horse racing desperately needs a Triple Crown winner, and I'll be pulling for Chrome but that mile and half is a killer. Always some well-rested, long shot with stamina that seems to upset the apple cart......

146TH BELMONT STAKES DRAW
Post Horse ML Odds
1 Medal Count 20-1
2 California Chrome 3-5
3 Matterhorn 30-1
4 Commanding Curve 15-1
5 Ride On Curlin 12-1
6 Matuszak 30-1
7 Samraat 20-1
8 Commissioner 20-1
9 Wicked Strong 6-1
10 General a Rod 20-1
11 Tonalist 8-1

Given the fact that General A Rod and Tonalist drew the outside posts and closers are near him, the #2 hole shouldn't matter. If the speed was near him, he might have had more problems. He should be able to leave and be sitting 3rd or 4th early.

Wicked Strong got the worst draw. He'll have to leave a little or be sitting last. It's not that bad.

The weather looks perfect. There could be showers Thursday. Friday will be overcast. Saturday looks like it will be sunny and clear.

Barring something weird, Chrome is going to win.

This looks like another day to find a Pick 4.

Face Value for reserved seats is $255.75.

WOW.......

Okay RJ, make me money. I don't know shit about horse racing so just tell me what to do.

All the cards seem to be lining up for CC. That has me worried. I was at the last three Belmont's with Triple Crown Winners; Secretariet, Affirmed and Seattle Slew. My gut says it's not going to happen Saturday. Hope I'm wrong.

Agreed with the stars aligning.....hope you're wrong as well!

WOW...none of the good horses in the tri with Chrome.

I'm really looking at $30-50 Pick 4.

I'm not sure if Chrome/Tonalist is a lock exacta or a sucker's bet.

Follow whatever pick 4 he suggests, then a tri with something like this...

Chrome
Tonalist/Wicked Strong/ROC
Tonalist/WS/ROC/Samraat/General A Rod

What do you think, RJ? Would that even make money? Guess you'd have to hope for Samraat or General to hit
