CBM: X-Men '97 finale; My Adventures with Superman S2 May 25; The Boys S4 June 13

Early reviews of Transformers are that it is another weak plot, eye candy movie.

Optimist Prime riding Grimlock told me all I needed to know.

Some Kevin Feige updates on GOTG, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, the Netflix shows, and comments on Fox's X-Men franchise

On Ant-Man:
On Ant-Man without Edgar Wright

"Ant-Man is still going to come out on 17 July [2015], we start filming this August. Edgar Wright, who I've known for many years, who wrote the draft with Joe Cornish - much of the movie will still be based very much on that draft and the DNA of what Edgar has created up to this point, but Peyton Reed has stepped in [to direct].

"Adam McKay, a very good writer is reworking parts of the script - not the entirety of the script, but some of it - and it's going to, we believe, come to life in the best version of Ant-Man that we could possibly make. Again Ant-Man is a very important character for us. We like that people don't necessarily know what it is, we like that it sounds sort of strange when you first hear the notion of Ant-Man, or a hero that can shrink, but he's a very key Marvel character: he's a key Avenger. He's an important character we want to bring into our universe and Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and an amazing cast all set to start in August, we believe that we're on the road to the best version of Ant-Man that we could have."

Guardians of the Galaxy (only 6 weeks away)

Harking back to the days when taking Iron Man to market seemed like a risky proposition, Feige was enthusiastic about presenting something new. “It’s very important that we keep surprising people and going out of our comfort zone,” he admitted, clearly excited about exploring ‘the other side of the Marvel universe’. Way over the other side. In outer space.

If the footage shown pointed to anything, though, it was that Guardians Of The Galaxy has its feet firmly plonked on the ground, thanks in no small part to its likeable, ragtag team of central characters. According to Feige, the humour will be key to pulling in audiences that might otherwise be turned off by genre fare.

The description of the footage that follows containssome spoilers forGOTG, so any fans planning to go in completely cold are advised to turn back now. Still with us? OK…

I'm hoping Dawson plays Karen Page. Reason being since she was a porn star we might get nekkid Rosario.

Saw it was very well reviewed. Stars Chris Evans. Looks interesting.

Am I a hipster for going to 90% of tentpole films but thinking the transformer movies are trash? I saw the first in theaters and havent so much as redboxed the others. Same goes for the Fast & Furious films, I haven't seen any of them since #2

I watched Transformers 1 in theaters and liked it well enough. I watched 2 on a lazy Sat afternoon on TV. Thought it was garbage. Bay pissed on my childhood. Literally if you consider the scene where an Autobot releases fluid on I think Tuturro's character.

But it prints money no matter what.

Hipsters like the greatest quintology (soon to be sextology) of all time. Game recognizes game.

The transformers films are all horrible, but they are fun on a big screen.

I haven't heard anything positive about Transformers 4 so I'm pretty surprised at the box office results. I guess there's nothing to compete with at the moment. Even fans of the series are complaining about the duration.

As for me, the show came out when I entered a brief lesser nerd phase so I have no sentimental affection for the franchise. The first one I thought was fairly boring but passable. The second was a nonsensical bore and I gave up the series then. If the 3rd one shows up on Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming, I might watch the destruction porn part of it, which I understand to be impressive, as far as destruction porn goes.

Saw the first Transformers and swore never to see another one. Sounding like I made the right choice.

The Flash pilot is out there. I just finished watching it and thought it was solid for a 1st ep. There were a few cool shout-outs and portents that insure I'll be checking it out.
