I guess the ACCT is now Tues to Sat? Part of our new TV deal?

So you gotta take a week off from work if you're going to the darn thing now. And you have to pay a lot extra to watch a bunch of mediocre teams the 1st couple of days and add in more hotel expenses. Think I'll just wait till we get to a final and go try to scalp a ticket if it's in Greensboro or DC.

Pitched my application in the trash for 6th year in a row.

I'm amped for 2017 in Brooklyn. Plan on taking off the week, schedule permitting, and head down.

I had a dream the other night that we won this and literally no one on the board posted about it. The game thread got permanently derailed with like three minutes left. I was incensed.

It's more due to the breakup of the Big East. Need a second high-caliber tournament final to go along with the Big 12 on that Saturday night

Oh well, another tradition down the drain. On the plus side of this it does free up the week-end for the most part.

Not wild about the ACCT extending so far into the work week, but I think having the championship game on Saturday night will be awesome. Was never a big fan of the 1PM Sunday tip.

Especially when you have to drive a few hours to get home and miss the bracket show.

Of course, before it was "tradition" for it to be on Sunday afternoon, it used to be "tradition" to have the final on Saturday night

I know this was the way it used to be. I don't really remember it when it was on Saturday. I think the ACC Tourney was at it's best in the 80's when it was 4 games on Friday, semis on Saturday and finals on Friday. Adding the play-in game was ok. Of course, if we played the first game on Friday and lost, the rest of the tourney wasn't as enjoyable. But the ACC Tourney died when they added VT, Miami and BC.

Yeah, ACC Tourney Friday with the four quarterfinals and teachers pulling out the TV so their students could watch was pretty baller

I wonder if I was upset when they moved it to Sunday during my Soph year. :)

"The new tournament schedule, mutually agreed upon by the ACC and ESPN, will feature Friday semifinal games at 7 and 9 p.m. ET, followed by the championship game on Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. All 14 tournament games will continue to be televised nationally by ESPN and the ACC Network."

Looks like it was ESPN's idea, most likely because they need to fill in the missing Big East Championship.

I was talking about the ESPN Big East thing old man

Same tradition as it "used" to be. The ACCT used to end on Saturday.
