I think this speaks more to the amount of time you've been a dad than any upgrade in music quality.

There is definitely a potential Dad Rock explanation. I feel like there hasn't been much dad rock this year. My favorite albums have been Panda Bear, Jamie XX and Father John Misty. So this Wilco album, with its guitars and sweet dad rock sound, have filled the gap I was looking to fill in the absence of a new album from Kurt Vile or War on Drugs or one of those bands. Am looking forward to Yo La Tengo's album whenever that comes out. And DIIV, although I'm starting to think they may never release another album.
