BBall Recruiting Thread 2k16- SJM, Washington, Childress & Mitchell sign NLIs; 2017?

Best move is to re-recruit Dinos for year3. He did say in his Fiba interview while playing in Greece that pro clubs don't trust young players and more Greeks should come to the U.S. to play basketball and study and graduate. Take your own advice Dinos!

Amen!

there have been a few interviews lately with giles' father where i get the impression he is all about "brand" and national championships and development. reading between the lines i feel like he's all about the dook-kentucky.

You mean like when he said the only person on the former team that liked Bzz was Daniel Green and then Bzz was let go and all of the players who apparently didn't like him transferred rather than playing with a new coach?

All of the players that transferred did so because they 1) were told upfront by Danny Manning that their playing time was going to be reduced as the program moved forward 2) they no longer had a coach that they could control by using the "I'm going to transfer if I don't get my way" line. 3) were told they would be held accountable for poor performance both on and off the court. No more excuses. Danny Manning told them all that it was going to be his way or the highway.

The only guy who truly liked Bz and thought he was a good coach was Daniel Green.

People say Harry Giles was a Wake fan growing up because he said so in an interview back in 2010. There were a few other interviews at the time and a little after but here is a link to one of them.

"BS: What’s your dream college?
HG: Wake Forest, I love this school because it’s in my hometown."

Of course then Bz years happened. Even if he remained a fan I doubt it would sway his decision since he is looking at it more from a business perspective now.

Yeah the reason Moto transferred is because Manning told him he was going to play him mainly at the 4 and Moto wanted no part of being a post player the rest of his career. He then proceeded to complain in The Pit next to me that "The new coach doesn't like me" when really Manning just had a completely different idea of how he would use him (The right way might I add)

There are people on this board who have more business being an ACC 3 than Moto did.

Is the first paragraph based on any sort of "inside" information or is this just speculation? Of course, Duke is going after Giles. We knew that already.

Jeff Capel told a group of dook fans (who had come up to slobber all over him while he was watching Harry) at a Wesleyan game last year that "they had never encountered a recruiting process like this" referring to Harry playing with Brandon and being good friends with the family.

The best thing for K and dook is getting Harry out of WS...I don't know that K had anything to do with Harry playing at Oak Hill, but I'm sure he's smiling as he hands his soul off to satan.

If anyone has ever or is ever going to get the dook 1st class recruiting treatment, all-out, one level below begging treatment- it's Harry Giles. The way Capel made it sound, it's almost personal.

Two of the players that stayed after [Redacted] was fired thought about leaving (loyalty to Battle & Larue and they weren't happy that Manning didn't really give them the time of day) but quickly realized they would be better players if they stayed.

Yup, Duck Fook...for all fucking time...and then some more, with diseased ridden...oh, you get the point.

I'm thankful every day I wound up and Wake and not Duke, UVa or UNC-Cheat.

FIFY

Not only did his soul go to Satan, so did his hairy white butt, on a platter, when he's bending down to slap said floor.

Come on Harry, don't go to that depressing Gothic hell-hole so you can ride a bus from the East Campus to the gym every day. Then again, he'll probably get to sleep in the Cameron locker room on a plush leather couch where Reggie Love got...

...oh man, I'm just welling up with Duke hatred today. Shit it feels good! :)

People's reactions to Harry going to Oak Hill for one year are a little extreme, in my opinion. He doesn't want to stay in Winston-Salem forever, nor will he unless W-S gets an NBA team. Wake would be lucky to have him for one, maybe two years, depending on the NBA collective bargaining agreement at the time. Harry wants to keep improving his game - and we'd rather see that than him wanting to stick around to coast or just pal around. We've already had reports that the coaching left a bit to be desired on WCA. He's only going two hours up the road at arguably the best prep school for basketball in the country. Give the kid a break. And we have no information that he did this because of Dook. So let's hope he goes up there, gets even better, joins up with Rodney Miller, they both commit to Wake to rejoin Brandon Childress, and then we kick Dook's ass.

I hate Duke but hate everybody else that is better than us too! Oops, I guess that IS everybody

Upping the age limit in time for it to apply to Harry would require approval from the player's union which isn't happening before the next round of negotiations in 2017.

Yes, I had briefly looked into it and thought it wouldn't affect 2016's class but was being safe anyway. Appreciate the clarification.
