looks like Hinton will be starting Saturday......per Clawson's latest comments.
Said Wolford is somewhere between doubtful and questionable and Hinton has been practicing with the first team

I hope Wolford can go...but I am interested to see what Hinton can do with a full week of reps with First Team. Either way, it's nice for him to get this prep time, it will help us as the season progresses.

I imagine Wolford will be the backup if he's able to play at all.

Shouldn't matter who starts, Clawson just said that Kyle is very good. So we have three good young quarterbacks. Decent depth at running back and receiver too. If Oline can show some improvement and defense can hold them to some field goal attempts then maybe we can keep it interesting.

If we could develop a proficient Oline, we could be a surprisingly good football team. But...

Maybe with the weak IU defense our Oline is fine and since we have 3 quarterbacks maybe we'll be ok Saturday. I'm more and more hopeful. And we have a good punter and kicker too. So let's hope that the oddsmakers are right after all so that even though on paper this team is three touchdowns better than we are, maybe it can be competitive.

I know one things. It's going to be a huge crowd and I'll be there.

We'll never have a good, consistent offense until we get better up front. Despite all the fancy spread offenses, zone read plays, etc., just like it's been since football began, "it's all starts up front."

It's going to take more than two years to build the OL. If we can get to passable this season and generate a decent running game, that will be a huge improvement.

It will. Clawson didn't inheritate any real studs up front from Grobe, maybe the best one we had has transferred out, so he's really had to start from scratch up front. I know our young tackles have had their struggles at time so far this year, but I think they're just going to get better and better. Unfortunately there was no quick fix for Clawson up front on offense, but hopefully we're seeing slow and steady improvement at least

Did you expect him to say he sucks?

I take him at his word. Sounds like Kyle is the real deal.

Just a little help from the Oline and if defense can hold them to 7 or 8 field goal attempts it could be competitive. I'm an optimist.

Hinton grew up a bit today. For s true freshman to step up like that with no protection...I was impressed. He stood in there many times under fire and made good throws. Made some bad ones, but many good ones as well. That being said, Wolford back next week but he will have competition once Hinton gets more patience and confidence

The answer is still Wolford starting and playing 80% of the game with Hinton packages. Hinton has outstanding vision and speed, and should be given the opportunity to contribute every week.

Hinton keeping his head after some of the cheap shots he took was the most impressive thing to me about his performance today.

I agree that Hinton is an absolute gamer, gets up after he's hit, keeps plays alive. As long as we have this oline he will be more effective than Wolford.

I think that it's it's OBVIOUS that Wolfold is the man. I think it's OBVIOUS that Hinton is not the guy right now. We go the rest of the season is Wolfords season. We open the competition up at the end of the season. Wolford is the man for the rest of the season if he is healthy.
