CBM: X-Men '97 finale; My Adventures with Superman S2 May 25; The Boys S4 June 13

torn about spoilers. i was in for a separate thread or something but i ended up being able to burn right through it unexpectedly.

This one will be weird with Thanksgiving. Some people will have more time than usual to burn through and others will have no time at all.

Teaser for X-Men: Apocalypse is going to be attached to The Force Awakens. Why that's being announced 5 weeks in advance, I dunno, but there it is, if anyone's super excited for the movie.

nice, now i have a reason to see that star movie

Juuuust about caught up on iZombie. Just need to watch last night's. God, this show is good.

Strong work by AOS tonight. I like the direction they're going. They've been given a nice corner of the MCU and they're playing with it. This episode exemplified how they've taken Season 1 weaknesses (Ward and Fitz/Simmons) and turned them into strengths.

I'm pretty sure it had been announced, but the Agent Carter preview showed that Season 2 starts on Jan 5.

I'll take this time again to express my admiration for what Marvel is going on the small screen. There will likely be 2 episodes of AOS that take place after Civil War. Daredevil Season 2 may premiere a year after Season 1 in April. If that's the case, Marvel would have produced 20 episodes of AOS, 10 episodes of Agent Carter, and 13 episodes each of Jessica Jones and Daredevil between Ant-Man and Civil War in theaters. Go back to where we were at the beginning of this thread. The idea of Marvel dropping 56 hour long episodes of TV in between two films was the stuff of dreams. Just amazing.

Solid night of tv.

iZombie - this was a typical episode, nothing special. That's not a criticism, to me a "typical episode" of this is still great tv.
Flash - Grodd! 'Nuff said.
AoS - I dig how they're exploring fundamental elements of the MCU that don't have roots in the comics. At least divergent from the old school comics, I'm not sure what's going on in today's "all new all different" comics.
Flash - worth saying again - GRODD! And they really featured the big fella, not like the prior episode with him.

The Grodd episode was fun. Didn't really like the animation where he was being pulled into the Earth-2 portal, though. It sort of took me out of the episode a little bit (and I realize how stupid that is to say in an episode about a super-speedster chasing down a sentient telepathic gorilla).

Also: Barry lying to Patti is getting really old already. Dude told Linda, a reporter for the local newspaper, with like no hesitation, but he can't tell his metahuman-hunting cop girlfriend? Wut?

I agree on that point, that particular effect struck me as something from a videogame from about 2005 or so.

I wasn't too happy with the Grodd episode until the end. Then it became clear they had a long term plan for him that would kick all kinds of ass.

Last season's Grodd episode was nominated for a special effects Emmy. I imagine this one will be nominated as well. Just brilliant work. I read an interview with one of the Flash showrunners that said the King Shark cameo a few episodes ago exhausted their special effects budget and he was a one shot character for now.

Looks like the Dec 1 crossover will lead right into the spinoff show.

I dunno, man. I don't think the Flash has the budget to pull of an entire episode of Gorilla City.

Some of the AVClub commenters were mentioning that putting the portals all over Earth-2 should pay off nicely if they do want to branch out, though. I'd be down to see Atlantis at some point.

The crossover is going to be more tablesetting for Legends of Tomorrow, which is getting a bit exhausting at this point, but I'm way more excited for it than I was about the Atom or FIRESTORM episodes. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun.

Weird that they're planning on getting Hawkgirl up and running so quickly, though. The way they've been slowplaying Kendra's character, I figured she wouldn't be a part of the team at the start of LoT.

I don't think they could do an entire Gorilla City episode. I do think they could pull off an episode in which Grodd comes back to Central City to seek revenge and Solovar follows him and helps The Flash defeat him. Do that and maybe figure out a framing device for animated flashbacks.

They have to have a cross-earth episode at some point, right? That's been the most glaring flaw this season to me: there's been almost no Earth-2 worldbuilding, aside from the Wells-2 flashbacks, which make Earth-2 seem like an isolated, anachronistic steampunk fantasy. Those flashbacks have really cheapened dialogue about how similar the two earths are, too. You have an entire planet to work with. Use it!

Yes. That's exactly what we need in a show with a lot going on that does crossovers with another show twice a year. We need a whole 'nother Earth to discuss.

ALSO: someone a couple weeks ago commented that when zoom gets unmasked it should be someone that barry's never seen before, which i think would be pretty hilarious, i am in full support of this idea
