CBM: X-Men '97 finale; My Adventures with Superman S2 May 25; The Boys S4 June 13

Hot Pockets - procured
Mountain Dew - chilled

Begin the Jessicathon!

Initial impressions, after 3 eps-

The "big mystery bad guy" is a more threatening villain before we even see him than any Marvel movie villain yet.
My optimism for the Luke Cage series is rising, Colter is a great fit for the role.
Luke and Jessica have my favorite origin stories thus far, except for Iron Man.
So far, it's living up to my extremely high expectations.

ETA - when I say "before we even see him" that doesn't mean that we don't see him at all, nor does it mean we do, I just mean that the degree of his menace gets established before his first scene. Whether we see him or not in the first 3 eps I'll leave as part of the mystery.

How do you all want to do spoilers? For Daredevil we added two episodes every two days.

DeacHead, could you edit your first sentence? Who is and who isn't in the show yet is a pretty big spoiler (although one I have seen alluded to in reviews).

Huh? It's not just "alluded" to in reviews, the antagonist has been explicitly stated in much of the marketing Marvel has done for this show, but sure, whatever.

That's not what I was talking about. Kilgrave isn't the spoiler in that statement. Check your rep.

Only able to catch the premier last night. I was never really a fan of the lead but she did a good job. They also did a very good job setting the stage for this season's conflict and where she is in her life.

Over all very well done episode. I'm all in.

Just watched the premiere. Terrifying stuff. So glad this is on Netflix instead of ABC as was planned several years ago. It would have been a basic procedural detective show.

I'm not sure a regular Netflix viewer could just watch with no knowledge of the characters. They left much of that as a mystery.

Explain your second paragraph. I think it's fine to go at cold. Backstory, like Daredevil and Arrow, is a slow burn throughout the season.

yeah, I like it that it's not a straight origin story. Even with Daredevil, it was about him becoming the hero. With JJ, we have someone who already tried that and it didn't work.

I will say, through 5 eps, Kilgrave is one of the most unsettling villains of any comic-based show so far.

David Tennant is a hell of an actors. As a Dr. Who fan, I'm always worried that it will be impossible to see him as someone other than The Doctor, but that's not the case here.

Check out Broadchurch on Netflix. Good series in general and Tennant specifically is great with a character that's basically anti-Dr. Who. It cured me of only seeing him as The Doctor.

My goal of showing restraint and finishing the series tomorrow - failed. I think I made it to Sunday on a technicality, that it was after midnight Saturday when the final credits rolled for episode 13.

Here's an odd note - this may have been the first Netflix series for which I've watched the opening credits for every episode. I really dug it, the visuals at least, even through the cheesy 80s guitar lick at the end.

I loved the fight scene in ep2. No fancy schmancy kung fu, just picking up mofos and throwing them.

I watched the American version of Broadchurch. Good show. I have about 5 episodes left of this. I love how interwoven all the themes are for this show - guilt, coercion, power, etc.

Nice day to be sick, but not too sick to watch the whole series.

That was really good. Thought it was even better than Daredevil. Jessica and Kilgrave were really well done.

This show has gone from creepy, to unsettling, to borderline disturbing. I can't stop watching.

love the show.

I know it's a dumb complaint at this point but I find it extremely, extremely, hard to believe that the AOS squad, at least, would not be all over Kilgrave, especially after the radio show call-out.

I had that same thought. However, they probably just have their hands full with Inhumans. It's not like AOS has as many resources as they used to. Also, who's to say that they didn't, and he sent them away?
