What if the Tea Party primarries enough Republicans to gain actual control of the GOP in the House?

They are threatening to attack anyone who doesn't kiss their asses.

In the Senate they are threatening to primary Lugar and Hatch.

Good. Those guys are too moderate for me.

Um...then they will? I'm not sure what the trick is to this question.

Your worst nightmare realized. Welcome to the new United States.

This is the scariest thing about the Tea Party. They're scared of people more radical than them.

Republicans better hope the Tea Party keeps challenging them from within rather than from without.

I think the so called Tea Party is a healthy wakeup call for the Republican party. It doesn't mean Boehner needs to go off the deep end. It simply means he has to go against his better judgement and grow a pair. And, so far, he has. And the really scary thing for some of you is the majority of this country share the views of this wacko Tea Party.

Tha majority does NOT share the views of the Tea Party.

How can you say that? If they did, would thle Tea Party not be all in the power? Nah, not happening.

it's ridiculous

The majority shares a lot of views that aren't represented.

Yeah, but you probably think the majority shares the views of Bernie Sanders because he's an "independent."

.

Then maybe they'd have the balls to cut nonessential government spending, operate the government on a realistic balanced budget, raise taxes only when necessary to expand essential services, and as a consequence cause a rebound of the economy.

Like his positions or not, Bernie is probably the most honest person in the Senate. His positions have nothing to do with his campaign supporters as he doesn't take money from special interests.

We need many more people, on both sides of the aisle like Bernie Sanders.

This is actually right. His constituents elect him knowing what he is. Much like Dennis Kucinich. Fair play to all.

Though it's gotta be a lot easier to win in Vermont without taking money than it would be in California.

I have family in Vermont and I can tell you, after many visits there, that Bernie mirrors the beliefs of many of his constituents. He really doesn't have to take money.

Most Tea Party-ers are too stupid to stand up to the scrutiny of running for a national seat. Think Nevada. At the end of the day, folks, whether they are Republican or Democrat, want some talent representing them, not an idiot, except in some cases (l'm looking at you North Carolina and Lousiana!)

Still, not exactly a high cost place to run a Senate race.

I agree with those who say he's honest and represents the views of his state. I thought I already said that.

And 2010 was like the 2008 elections never happened.
