After listening to it about 30 straight times last night, I think "Waiting In Vain" is definitely Bob Marley's best song, and maybe one of the best ever. I think I got skin orgasms every time I spun it last night. Great production, too, so smooth.

Anyway, slightly related -- I listened to the entirety of Rastaman Vibration last night because I needed some Positive Vibration (first track) and when "Johnny Was" came on, I was reminded of the Stiff Little Fingers cover, which I think I actually heard first since I was listening to a lot of punk music in high school in Tucson and all I had on Marley was the greatest hits, Legend.

Going with Wife to see M83 tonight, along with Sofi Tukker and Cashmere Cat, who I've just checked out on Spotify and seem cool. Gonna get our electro house dance music on. Feel like we need Ecstasy or something.

SLF version better

Disagree. The SLF version is aimless and unfocused. Just sounds like some kids halfassing through a semi-reggae-ish version of a reggae song with all the Alternative Ulster settings still strong on their amps. It sounds like they were at a rehearsal and just hit record.

How was it?

It was a lot of fun. Feel like Sofi Tukker could be big one day. This shit was awesome:

The chick was also pretty hot and wearing basically a see-through white top thing.

As for M83, seeing them live gave me a better appreciation. I loved Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, but didn't care all that much for Junk, but hearing and seeing those songs performed live was fun. They put on a good show.

Whitney is former Smith Westerns guitarist Max Kakacek and former Unknown Mortal Orchestra drummer Julien Ehrlich.

Curious about thoughts on new Band of Horses album. It's not as good as their first 2 albums (obviously), but initial impression is that it's definitely better than the last album.
