General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

I didn't mention you Bob no need to be defensive, actually had another poster in mind, and fixed my tweet post with a ninja edit

Though I do agree Trump's convention bounce is puzzling, especially as this more of this gallup poll data comes out about how they were received. People gave him a -15 on likeliness to vote after the convention, the first time ever it's been a negative number for a candidate. It's probably the totality of both conventions and the never ending needless controversies that he embroils himself in.

"Mark my words: Putin will never go into Ukraine."

"Well he has already"

"I mean again."

Yeah....Trump's biggest fear has to be Hillary or someone making up a leader or a country or an agency and talking about it to bait him into going on and on about things he pretends he knows about.

As long as we're putting people who have no chance of winning into the thread title - can you add me too?

Agreed. How does Trump have more than like 50?

because he's a true leader. Do you think if Melania cheated on him hundreds of time he wouldn't have stood up for himself and kicked her to the curb? Hillary is weak, and we need a strong leader to lead us through these tough times.

Looks like if either CO, MN or WI flips from Clinton to Trump and all the rest stays as they predict, you get to 269-269

269-269 is with FL red and PA blue. Switching them gets you to 278-260 Clinton. CO, MN, and WI are all blue in the 269-269 scenario.

Gotcha, but my scenarios show there seem to be quite a few ways to end at 269-269, although I don't know how the rounding works.

If Trump could just go a week without doing something monumentally stupid he'd be ahead. He should take a page from Hillary and start to dramatically limit press access. Although she does take some questions she hasn't had a press conference in 7 months. The more people see of Hillary the less they like her. I think the same goes for Trump. But he just can't help himself. He's gotta be in front of the cameras, like a moth to a flame.

The likelihood is Hillary will all five of those states. Three polls have her up 9% in PA. She's up 7% in FL. She's up so much on CO that she's not spending as much money there. She's up 5% or more in MN. The average of the last five polls in WI is Hillary over 7% ahead.

This is the problem with Trump as a candidate and trying to imagine him as a president...he appears to be monumentally stupid.

Seems odd that stats nerds would be so much different than RJ's polls.

fwiw full DNC bounce not baked in yet, polls just starting to come in. Silver's earlier piece was just based on the first polls trickling in. Just now a CNN poll was released giving Clinton a +12 bounce from -3 after RNC to +9 now. Lead is starting to look like the largest it has been since Trump clinched the nom.

Also in that poll: Clinton at 91% with Sanders voters, 82% among nonwhite voters, up 65-32% among voters under age 45, up 10 pts w white col+

Trump still running incredibly strong in every poll with white no college but that probably won't be enough. Latest antics do nothing to erode that support (angry dudes) but he'll need more than that in November.

Please tell me you don't really believe that? Trump?? Strong??? The man is totally dysfunctional.

Tell me you like him because you just totally hate HRC. Tell me you're anti every social leap forward we have made in the last 25 years and you want to roll back the clock and elect Trump. Tell me you'd rather look at Melania's ass the next four years than Hillary's. I can (almost) accept any of that.

But strong; the man is a fuckin psychopath.
