We already are dude. Refugees go through a two-year vetting process.

Anyway, order is dead for now thanks to a judge in Seattle. So if you're from one of these countries and had a visa before the order, I'd get your ass over here right now

Apparently a lot of folks booked the first available flight after the judge in Seattle. Gonna suck for them if the DOJ is successful and they get turned away again.
 
If this doesn't reek of authoritarianism, I don't know what does. For the record, Trump has now publicly scolded the press, judiciary branch and Congress while trying to make the argument that he alone knows what is right.

It's getting appealed to the Ninth Circuit dude, and two of the judges on this month's motions panel are pretty liberal. And SCOTUS is 4-4. This order isn't going anywhere fast.
