BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

After John Collins becomes rookie of the year, there's gonna be a whole host of people that are gonna be like I need me some of that Danny Manning magic.

Isaiah Mucius is officially visiting Xavier starting today so it's possible that there's some newer intel on his recruitment and where his head is at after this weekend.

I'm curious to how he will react to the Hoard news. Xavier couldn't have asked for a better chance to make their pitch. If he doesn't commit to Xavier after this weekend then things will get very interesting for him.

Pretty certain the pitch all along has been to play alongside ChaunDEAC and Hoard. How he feels about that option is the big question. Hopefully he holds off on Xavier at least until we get a chance to give him the full red carpet treatment in Winston.

Hoard still having his official to use could help in that regard.

So you think we are losing steam on Mucius, Ranger? I think we could do some really fun lineups with Mucius.

Hoard could come homecoming weekend without using an official though, right? I'm sure he may want the wine and dine treatment most 17-18 year olds do but he lives right up the road and could come whenever.

He could but unless he's fine with paying for everything that the other recruits get for free (except tickets to the football game), he's going to use his official if he comes that weekend.

Any news on Nate? I still think it's a long shot, but who knows?

I wouldn't say that just that the recruiting pitch both schools are selling are now no longer theoretical.

This would be the worst Charlie Brown in recent history if we don't land Jaylen :). Love this kid's game, and he is exactly the kind of player we need. Assuming we land him, our primary energy should be spent on Mucius. Mucius, Hoard, Brown at the wings is DANGEROUS....

I am not worried at all about Mucius, he will be a Deac and that has been the case for some time now. As for a PG, I would be extremely happy with either Devoe or Dosunmu. Breaking down each of their games from everything I have read, Dosunmu is more of a slasher, finisher type who just shoots ok from 3 and is more of a combo guard or lead guard than a pure point. Most of his scoring comes from attacking the basket and either finishing or making ft's after being fouled and he is very quick as well. Devoe is more of a "pure" point who distributes well and is a very good passer (I have seen comparisons to Kendall Marshall in this regard) but is also a very good 3 point shooter. During this year's EYBL events, he shot over 42% from 3 (Ayo was 27%) and averaged 15.8ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.6apg, 42.1% from 3, 81.1% FT's. Ayo was a big scorer at 23.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.1apg and shot 27.3% from 3 and 79% ft's. Their size is pretty comparable and Dosunmu appears to be quicker and a little more athletic than Devoe but both are fine in those areas.

Do you have this information on Mucius from a reliable source or just a gut feeling Sportsnut?
