NFL Offseason Thread: 2018 NFL Draft

No doubt. But two centers before the first WR is unusual.

Sony Michel is probably going to be Super Bowl MVP next season.

Maybe, but that is a weird pick for them. He'll get like 18 carries in one game and then 1 in the next game.

He'll get on the field because he can pass protect and catch a few out of the backfield. Pats defense is on the wane so they're going to need to score points.

Someone kill me

Don't despair. Edmunds and Derwin were the last 2 great picks left on the board in the late teens. I watch a lot of VT football - he's gonna be a good 1. And I've been saying I like Allen and Rosen more than Mayfield and Darnold. There was no sure thing QB in this draft. Rolling the dice on Allen at 7 was the right move, especially considering folks thought you'd have to move up to the 4-5 area to get him.

I'm a bit conflicted on my Ravens taking Jackson. I like him late in the 1st but I don't like trading next year's #1 to get him. If you like him, take him at 25 and then take 1 of the 4 TEs with your mid 2nd pick.

Overall, the Cards have to be happy only having to go to 10 to nab Rosen. Thought the Pats did well getting Wynn and Michel - they should pay immediate dividends. I think they're going with Lauletta at 63 if he's still on the board. And here I thought the Browns were improving with Dorsey because I liked their offseason moves. Aside from my disagreeing with some of y'all on Mayfield, I just don't get taking Ward at 4 over Chubb or Nelson when Ward should have gone in the 8-12 range. When you're sitting at 4 you can't go need over a perennial all-pro talent. Especially when you could have gotten a Josh Jackson at the beginning of the 2nd.

can he return kicks?

Yes, but he didn't get a lot of chances because he went to high school and college with Isaiah McKenzie who's really good at returning kicks. Some guy named Todd Gurley returned a lot of kicks too. Michel had a kickoff return for TD against Louisville in the Belk Bowl, but it got called back. Pretty sure he played on kick coverage early on at UGA.

Duke lost some money coming back this year. I hope it works out for him.

Eh. I don’t think you can say that.

His stock 100% fell during this past season. Now, it's entirely possible his workouts could have lowered his stock last offseason anyway, but he definitely lost money. In large part due to injuries in 2017.

His stats declined this season.
