2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

Kamala Harris as Attorney General

Sorry, but I don't need my president aggressively wading into the state court system to pardon people, innocent or not.

the amount of scrutiny of a candidates' history is truly mind boggling

There’s already been more scrutiny of several Dem candidates than there ever was of Trump.

She was the California Attorney General, and those 3 decisions of hers were made in the last 10 years. Exactly what level of scrutiny do you prefer?

it was more of a general statement. on one hand it seems that candidates will have to approach a super-human level of 'perfection', on the other....donald trump

TITCR. Every single candidate that will run for the Democratic nomination will have multiple “Wait a second...” flaws. Especially if you’re MDMH. It’s not a great look for Kamala, but I would much prefer hearing those questions asked in a sit down interview or in a debate setting rather than Twitter where there is limited chance to respond and almost zero chance at being able to respond intelligently and logically.

I continue to be amazed at how hard Democrats are trying to disqualify candidates right now. Everyone needs to chill the fuck out.

Yep. Memo to Progressives. The entire party made a dramatic shift to the left over the last 5 years or so. If your litmus test is that they were that far left 10, 20, 30 years ago, you will be disappointed.

100%. And then the “true progressives” (attn: MDMH) claim that those candidates aren’t authentic enough in their liberalness, that they are pretending to get the nomination. Breaking news: NO FUCKING SHIT. Politics always has elements of going with the flow and seeing where the political winds are blowing. They have been blowing hard left for the last 3 or so years, especially after 2016. Be happy that the conversation is moving that way and please acknowledge that this a good first step. The last thing we need is another intro-party revolt because the true progressive leaders take their ball and go home.

criticize the hell out of everyone's record. Y'all put way too much stock in the opinions of pundits or random strangers online. In a time where the national conversation on mass incarceration has really heated up, from 13th to the New Jim Crow, to the Black Lives Matter movement, we abso-fucking-lutely have to criticize and scrutinize the records of candidates like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

Otherwise we get stuck with a Clintonesque "law and order" nominee.

and yet voters in CA were ok to vote her into the Senate. and as I recall from an esteemed poster from Randleman, we shouldn't really count voters from states like CA because they're blue regardless.

"and yet voters in [state] were ok to vote her into the [legislative body]."

So people with bad track records/bad legislative history never get elected?

not really. you're getting hung up on her doing her job, as defined in 2003, and basically disqualifying her. meanwhile, her opponent brags about grabbing pussies. you sound insane
