2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

I'm more upset about the people that don't care than the ones that disagree. Many of those claims aren't even subjective (liberal) interpretations, they're literally just bad and inhumane decisions that Harris made. I don't understand how someone acknowledges Harris's career decisions and still thinks she would be a good President.

How do you look at the people in prison that she should have exonerated, George Gage, Daniel Larsen, Johnny Baca, Kevin Cooper, and say "The person who refused to give you justice is the best America has to offer". I really don't get it. We're not talking about a DUI or a bankruptcy or going to a problematic church, these are humans in prison right now that shouldnt be.

I think that gives you your answer. A lot of people are taking the first approach.
He's being facetious and referencing the incarceration argument between conservative authoritatianism (three strikes law) and liberal permissiveness. As in, should I treat Kamala Harris's record as AG the same way that she treated criminal defendents.

I got the joke, but it’s also an accurate breakdown of how the left seems to be viewing her record on criminal justice.

As a representative of the left, I promise to examine any exculpatory evidence in her favor and I wont let her die in prison for a crime she didnt commit.

Not a big Gillibrand fan personally but I’m open to what she has to say. Strikes me as pretty centrist who is shifting for political gain.

This is my take too. She felt the winds shifting before others did. I don’t think that’s a bad thing because Progressive winds will have a bigger say on the next Dem President than their own track record.

A thread on Gabbard's foreign policy:

Link? Seems to me she has a lot to answer for.

This thread for one. She clearly has a lot to answer for, but I think some people look at the record and say “that’s a bridge to far” whereas others say “that’s bad, but let’s hear her answer and then evaluate whether we think she would make a good president.” Both approaches make some sense, at least for the primary.

A thread on Gabbard's foreign policy:

I don't think the LGBT stuff is fair to hold against her given how she's voted and how open she's been about how her views have changed, but there does seem to be an anti-Islamic thread throughout her foreign policy positions. Seems both anti-LGBT and Islamophobia were indoctrinated in her by her very socially-conservative father and family, but as far as I can tell she's only shaken one off

Her voting record as a House Rep for upstate NY was far different from her voting record as a senator for the entire state. A very valid concern

Agreed -- not sure what the issue is then. It's either a no, or wait to get more info.
