Official 2018-19 NBA Season Thread - NBA Finals Raptors Win #WeTheNorth

What a game

I know the Nets have a solid cap situation going into next season, but reading Allen Crabbe just exercised a player option for next year at $18.5M gave me a little chuckle. Dude was terrible this year in his half a season he played, below his career averages in basically every category. That's not the best selling point for Durant/Kyrie/whoever.

Suns are hiring Monty Williams; looks more and more like Lakers are gonna hire Lue.

In case you need anymore evidence Lebron is now running the organization.

In the debate of Jordan vs. Lebron, I never expected that Lebron could tarnish his legacy over the last few years (like MJ on the Wizards). But it seems increasingly possible that he’ll ruin the Lakers and the strength of the West will keep him out of more Finals.

I had him pegged for at least a couple of additional trophies as a 2nd fiddle PF (or co-superstar).

There’s obviously still time.

This Bucks roster just ain't anything special. And Giannis has a lot to work on before he's going deep in the playoffs. Raps are the team I'm worried about.

Checking in on this take

The Celtics should have four of the top six players in any game, but if they don’t, they’re screwed. Pretty much the same for the Sixers vs. Raptors. It’s just hard to beat the best player on the court when his teammates are playing well.

I reject that notion. The Celtics are spare parts with an all world coach. Sixers are a bunch of stars trying to figure out how to put it together.

I would hardly call two All-Stars (and a third who is injured) and two #3 picks in the lottery- spare parts.

Official 2018-19 NBA Season Thread: Dame. Damn.

That doesn't conflict with what I said. What I said applies to both situations.

The Bucks and Raptors are led by a Top 5 player and a borderline all-star. If the top for Celtics and Sixers are all better than Lowry/Middleton and whoever else for their teams, they should overcome Giannis/Kawhi to win. If the Celtics allow guys like Bledsoe, Mirotic, Hill, and Pat f'in Connaughton to get off, they're not going to win. Same with the Sixers vs. Siakim, Ibaka, and Green.

Most of the people who hate the possession arrow in college hoops don't actually watch the NBA to see how screwed up random jump balls can be.

So McCollum has the #hothand tonight. Does he take the last shot in 3OT? AFA playing some nice defense.

Don't recall a guy playing through as much obvious pain as Kanter has this series

And defending the best player on the other team.

Eh it’s kyrie and role players

It’s a team of a bunch of the same long wing who can shoot and defend

I like their roster construction, don’t get me wrong, but other coaches wouldn’t be getting this kinda run out of these guys
