Basham, Surratt, Hartman and Kern return

The Bulldogs are expected to explore the graduate transfer market. Stanford's K.J. Costello and Wake Forest's Jamie Newman recently entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Will Newman put up better numbers next year? No. He won’t have Surratt, Washington and Hinton. Either you are a Deacon or you’re not. Good riddance, Newman. Don’t let the door hit you...

He’s more of a Deacon than most of us. He has a bachelors degree and he led the football team to two bowl games.

And he will be fine with whatever SEC WR he has at Georgia.

Maybe, but a lot of folks blame UGA's offensive ineptness this year on the WR crew they had. They may be talented, but they were not ready to step in and replace the WR corp that left the year before.

There is no way Jamie Newman is a first or second round draft choice.

He probably will be after next season. Prototype NFL body at 6'4" 230 pounds and can pass in a passers league. Contrary to this boards opinion, not that many teams in the NFL use much RPO. QB's throw for 4000+ yards. Would imagine after another season you will see Jackson's running numbers go down quite a bit after he keeps getting hit and possibly hurt [see RG III or Cam Newton]. Drew Brees is not a running QB and neither is Russell Wilson. They run when necessary to scramble or when it is wide open and then they slide.

Mahomes 4031 yards passing [218 rushing], Watson 3852 yards passing [495 rushing], Rodgers 4002 passing [183 rushing], Wilson 4110 passing [342 rushing] and so on.

Reads to me like they both shut the door.

I don't blame Clawson in the least. Jamie shut the door and then burned it down with a giant fuck you to Clawson and Ruggiero. Clawson is very much aware that Jamie's reads were too slow, he could not throw a quick slant, and as a result he ran the ball too damn much.

Me either. I was saying above that he’s pretty obviously pissed to me. If he’s pissed then people on here can get off their high horses about fans being pissed. He knows Jamie and I’m sure he wants to the best for him in addition to his own team. This was all done the wrong way and it burned bridges.

Agree, with these thoughts:

1. Jamie turned his back on his team mates. Kudos to Hartman, Hinton, Surratt, and Boogie for not doing likewise.
2. Personally, hope Jamie transfers to the Pac 12, sits on the bench, and we don't hear a word about him all year.
3. Then, best of luck to Jamie in the next NFL draft and hope he has a successful NFL career.

You just got to laugh how Newman working this system. So much respect for him. Smartest Wake player ever.

The system will work him. He'll transfer and at the most split time with some 4 or 5 star kid that was promised the keys to the kingdom

If he ends up at Oregon or UGA, starts and plays well enough to significantly improve his draft position (which is possible given he'd be playing for a top tier team), then good for him. He's showing a ton of confidence in himself because none of those things are a given. He could just as easily end up splitting time with another QB, he could struggle to pick up a system in one offseason, or his next team could have some unexpected losses and he'll face a new level of pressure. He's not showing much loyalty to Wake but he's not going to get any from his next stop in return from fans. It's a business move, and with Hartman nipping at his heels it's not as treasonous to me as some make it out to be. Reminds me a little of Doral Moore and his supreme confidence that he'd get drafted and if he didn't he'd make it anyway.

He'd better be up to the challenge, because he was in a very good situation at Wake and tossed it away in hopes of an ideal situation. At the very least it'll add a great story to next year's season. If he goes to an ACC team though, woof.

Until he overplays his hand, takes too damn long to correctly read the situation, and ends up at ECU or North Texas State.

Lol. Pilchard you are fucking pathetic. First you say that it’s LOW-FAT that people suggest that Newman might transfer and then you wish him well I’m the CFP versus awake which you know damn good and well isn’t happening for either party. You are dumb as shit and should go sit on the front row and cheer for him while he misses open receivers or sits on the bench a thousand miles from home while he fucks Clawson up the ass.

Anyone who is too stupid to see that he fucked over the coach who gave his ass a scholarship and a starting job is a moron.

What if he transfers to UGA and wins the CFP?

What if he transfers to Space Force and saves the universe ?

Fromm Declared. Have to think that’s the #1 choice for Jamie right now.

This has been a done deal for a couple weeks.
Where you at now, Biff???

Not so fast! Pickens? Is great but top two OL and RBs going pro, #1 rb recruit in the country kicked off HS team before state champ and has been "released from LOI"by UGA. the shine is off the Dawgs.

He WAS a Deacon. He won’t be a lifetime Deacon except for his diploma. His coaches and most of the players won’t want him around. He quit on the Deacs. So stop cheering for this quitter.

As usual, you have no clue but are bitter, vengeful and filled with jealousy.
