Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

If we are paying him 8 figures to leave, you can be damn sure Currie could get him to keep his mouth shut until he’s ready to announce it.

The waiting sucks a great deal but it’s obviously not a sign either way.
 
To make the job even easier, the campus is closed. No way for pesky reporters to hang around the offices looking for morsels of dirt.

The fact that nobody has jumped limits the pressure on others.

I suspect athletic departments have been extremely busy reworking all kinds of schedules following the shutdown of spring sports. For many, also the closure of school. Some student-athletes may not have available living quarters once they are out of the dorms.

The coaching carousel is at a crawl. No rush to jump on.
 
No one here knows anything. The sports world is on pause just like the rest of society, so we may not fire Manning until everything has settled down. That, or he'll be back next year. I would not be surprised if he returns, and at this point, I really don't care about Wake basketball and haven't for a while
 
I said from the very beginning, this is a financial issue. It was last year, and it still is this year.

Reviews have been completed this week. If no statement of any kind is released by this evening, that means business as usual for a multitude of reasons, but financial first and foremost. I would think the AD would have found a way to overcome these issues, but it might not have been possible.

It is extremely illogical for us to have a presser one year to announce a comeback and just not say anything the next year when it’s even more of an issue. Such a dumb post.

The players don’t know and are waiting too. There will be an announcement.

I know there are a few students and student athletes still on campus. I’m not sure about basketball team members.
 
Sportsnut is the best “insider” we have on here absent random posters falling backwards into an actual tidbit of information.
