A contradictory report does not equal “proven false.” I think Les is probably correct, but his reports are only as good as his sources. It’s possible he’s being purposefully fed bullshit for any number of reasons, including to strengthen Wake’s negotiating position, by making it seem that there are more viable candidates. Again, I suspect Les is correct, and I have absolutely no doubt he’s accurately reporting what he’s being told, but reporters get incorrect information all the time.

No reflection on Les or his source, but this report only means that no one has accepted our job yet —everyone is technically still a candidate, although I am sure a couple are already basically eliminated and that could have leaked.
