For me, it's the rest of the resume/track record. Forbes has coached big time ball as an assistant under Gillispie at A&M where they overachieved, Tennessee under Pearl when they were rolling and then under Greg Marshall at Wichita State yet again, when they were rolling. He's been around the block and has shown that he knows what it takes to win at successful programs and should have a large leg up on recruiting due to his past.
 
Forbes is a great hire considering the program’s current position. He’s been a winner and feel good that trend can continue at Wake.
I was holding onto to Matta, but appears that can now be put to rest. I’d still be curious if he did indeed come to campus. Also did Belien take it far enough to come to campus?
Assuming Forbes.. I feel good that Currie did his job well with this one.

The previous ETSU coach, Murry Bartow, was fired after a 4 year period of mediocrity. Forbes came in and has compiled a 130-43 record in 5 seasons with 2 NCAATs. He also has P6 recruiting experience at Tennessee and Wichita State.

Also, after he was let go by UT for the Pearl stuff, he went down to Northwest Florida State and took them to back to back NJCAA National Championship games. He went 62-6 in his 2 years there.

He’s just a winner. The fans would love him too, can see him getting in to it with K and Roy.
 
John, Clawson and Forbes all got canned by Tennessee so let’s play those guys in basketball and football. We can go over the mountain and teach those guys a lesson.

I know this isn't actually Dino and you are joking, but I would hold a huge fucking grudge if I were him for Rons whisper campaign. Luckily that's 10 years behind us and it sounds like we FINALLY have a real coach

I'm inclined to agree.

Still, I do think it's going to be Forbes. With a gut feeling small chance of some out of the blue guy from some goofball mid-level Power 6 that's not ever come up in any capacity.
 
Just noticed Currie follows Forbes on twitter but not Wes. Not sure how long he’s been following for to be fair.
 
BabyDeac75 knows his stuff. He is well placed to say the least.
 
ETSU fans don't understand why Forbes would take a job. They keep calling it a "step down other than salary".

Wellman, [Redacted], and Manning have done a lot of damage to our program.
