Old School Nintendo Game Thread - Game Open - Day 123 Ends at 1:30 PM EST

So uh, Rom is Mafia, huh?

How long before both mafs white flag so we can re-roll?

Whataya Want from Me
Adam Lambert
Hey, slow it down
What do you want from me
What do you want from me
Yeah, I'm afraid
What do you want from me
What do you want from me
There might have been a time
I would give myself away
(Ooh) Once upon a time
I didn't give a damn
But now here we are
So what do you want from me
What do you want from me
Just don't give up
I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in
I won't let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
What do you want from me

Not to derail the current people being discussed but this needs to be clearly laid out so it is not missed and/or misunderstood (now or later).

These words are their own.

Redwing:
I gain information if I break an overtime tie.
(Votes at 9:31. Overtime is officially called. Votes again and breaks tie.)
I learned the character-player matchups for two players, both still alive. I do not have role or alignment information on them. I can still use my power.

Ph:
I have a civ role that gives me a small power-up if I break two ties.

One of these players has to be non-civ aligned. Multiple tie breaks in favor of the town being rewarded? Huge red flags.
If one of them is coming out to clearly buy time to survive to X night to get X power that needs to at minimum be considered.
I'd prefer we resolve it but I've laid it out as best I can which is all I can do at this point.

I don't disagree with the logic, but the fact that Ph said he had to BREAK 2 ties, as opposed to Redwing's 1 gives me pause. Cause between the two of them, there are only so many ties to break. This is why I think they COULD both be civ. I could see competing civ roles with this power and one of them being better than the other and them obviously not knowing which is better for them to coordinate.

Not if:

-you are maf or
-tic is maf

Odds that neither are true is something like 56%, so this is most likely false

Why does Townie keep trying to protect PH?

The truth about Ph is that he made a post that allows him to cause future chaos, likely with him getting powers for doing so. We're never going to get enough information from his posts and even if he's a civ and survives to end-game, he's likely to add very little value.

and as da and I mentioned, do we want Ph in a position to cause chaos for a small benefit?

gooner

ph's claim is bad
rw's claim is better but is not clearing

would also consider doofus or townie here

43% chance they are actually teammates?

100% chance I'm coming back to this after one flips mafia.

This was about gouda and ryala. Gouda has flipped mafia.

I had same reaction reading this post. Feels like mafia tic coming in and trying to look like he’s gonna lead us. Faux analysis.

I also think this is civ numbers (likes his initial reaction post re ranks a few ago as well).

Masons - what's the reasoning for numbers?

In a game this large, I don't stick my head out day 1 to try to save a teammate.

I read numbers as civ and thus asked you and Gat as masons to explain your reasoning for numbers. After giving it, I didn't have a strong feeling either way and just moved on.

Here's the posts about Numbers from Nonny presented without analysis from me.

Eagles tone is different this game than it has been recently. Not saying he’s dirty or clean but it feels like old eagles. Glad to have you back.

TIC reads as civ to me

I don’t trust knight’s Miller claim and he seems checked out

I just had work to do. I'm (obviously) catching up now.

Why Nonny? I get the read on Eaglez and Doofus.

Nonny reads like trash. His entry was bad.

***ryala***

This is not a bad vote. I find humor in always-silenced-toogs.

#933, you calling SD3 not-with-numbers?

I don't disagree with the logic, but the fact that Ph said he had to BREAK 2 ties, as opposed to Redwing's 1 gives me pause. Cause between the two of them, there are only so many ties to break. Competing = bad
Complementing/supporting = good

Competing = bad
Complementing/supporting = good

Yeah, like I said, I like where your head is at. I just think it's something we can table until later. Good you brought it up now, cause we got a clowncar of nubs willing to test it OUT OF NOWHERE.

What are the odds that Ph would even be around in an OT situation to place the vote on somebody to break a tie, much less twice?

Also, pretty interesting pulls by D14 on Nonny, and the subsequent willingness of Nonny to go along with Ph

***parlay*** for hiding his vote somewhere safe last round and coming right back and doing the same today.

lol.

I have returned from my late morning nap.

Care to explain why you created a 3 way day 1 dad? that's not dad like.

Just FYI everyone, this is JTP's mafia game. Tell activated.

I'm good killing: Nonny, Eagles, JTP, or Gooner.

I have TiC, Jman, Doofus, bym, D14, and GAT as civs.

@nonny i'm not protecting Ph, I'm trying to work out the logic of whether his claim is believable. I'd sooner bus a Ph teammate with a claim like that than I would go to the mat for him. As civs, our job should be figuring out whether claims are good or not, and everybody saying the same thing isn't helpful. A better thing to do, if we think both or either claim are BS would just be to try and convince both players not to use their roles to get shitty powers.

I mean there are two mafias. So the last 2 sentences aren't really true.

While it's easy to confuse because of the way it is written, I read it as him saying that he was not giving info away on gooner and that either mafia knows that if he is not their teammate, he's either the other mafia or a civ special. Since I'm a few pages behind, I'm sure this has been cleared up already
