It’s the only way to play. That way, it’s easy to find post references when people say “look at post #1210” i.e., it’s on page 13, post 10

Idk if anyone could really do #2 without tattling on themselves, but I agree with 1 and 3. I mostly just didn't like that he snuck in a super easy vote that put Ph way out there with nothing to it, so semi-related to what you're saying but less complex.

Nope. I find it easier somehow to get the feel for how a round was going timewise when I'm re-reading if it's just 20 pages.
 
If you wanna get real freaky with your read, more recent ph votes are better than early ones
