What is the best dessert?

Cake is almost always better than pie. Not a hard and fast rule, but it's pretty damn close.

lol good good let the hate flow

Rocky Road is a bottom tier ice cream. The nuts put it there, but the mallows lock it in. Ain't nobody want any of that shit.

ugh the marshmallow is what makes it awesome.. and it shouldn't be like hard chunks.. it should be creamy and mixed throughout

fruit pies are bomb, what are you talking about cookout

jesus ron wellman christ

NorthGeorgiaRep for you

wow

lol, knew i'd get this

meat pies > fruit pies

i've had so many shitty cherry and apple pies in my life, the lowest of low floors and the ceiling really isn't all that high either

last really phenomenal dessert i had that i remember was Top of the Falls lemme see if i can pull up what i had

can't find it but goddamn it was like this chocolate berry egg that leaked gold flaked chocolate creme set in a pastry dish with ice cream on the side

it's funny, I've had quite a few reall fancy dessert dishes like this in my life, and yet the desserts that stick with me are always just the really really well executed classics..

yeah that's fair but also i remember this dessert because it was like holy shit how long did it take somebody to make this

True or false, people who put nuts in cookies, brownies or ice cream are terrorists and should spend the rest of their lives in ADX Florence for their crimes?

False. Nuts make everything better. Just ask your mom.

A warm, moist fudgy brownie with nuts and a couple scoops of real vanilla bean ice cream is a really solid answer. As is a hot out of the oven homemade apple pie with that same ice cream but I'm going to go with my wife's homemade chocolate chips just out of the oven.

i enjoyed the chocolate foie gras faberge egg at mirabelle, it's awesome

I think the single best dessert I’ve ever had was at Rogue 24 (RIP ). It was this mushroom sponge thing and was pure heaven. The sponge tasted like sticky toffee pudding. The pastry chef Giane is now up at Volt and I think everything she makes is incredible. This is her making the dish at the James Beard House.

I had that, it was really fucking good. Was it one of their servings? We went on NYE right before they closed.

my wife makes a really excellent pie crust, but I still think crushed cookie (graham cracker, oreo, ginger snap, etc) crusts >>> traditional pie crust
