Totally Unofficial 2019/2020 Premier League Thread (NWT)

McTominay adding a MEANINGLESS assist to his stat sheet today.

What about interceptions tho?

Doesn’t this son of a bitch know I’m posting about him

Isn’t McTominay just the Scottish Eric Dier? Decent enough player who’s can be okay and do a job if he’s the 9th best player in your side but nowhere close to a top talent?

Soooooo.... basically a taller version of Fred?

For the record, I've never claimed that McHottie is a world beater. I've simply defended him on here against Townie's (seemingly) mindless assault on him and praise of Fred, who I've come around on to appreciate. Truly. But it is fun to rustle jimmies...

My point has been for the past 6 months or so that McTominay and Fred bring nearly the same thing to the table when they play. Townie claiming that Fred is better is just not true so I rib him for it.

Neither player is going to lead any side to greatness.

Ha not going to rehash all the old arguments. Especially since today he was good.

But in matches like this when he’s allowed to run wild it’s because Fred is backing him up. They’re basically equivalent players and McTominay probably has the best part of his career ahead and Fred’s probably near his peak. I don’t like McTominay because I think he’s a dirty player sometimes. And I think Fred moves really well in and out of possession and keeps the shape for the club. That’s all really. Then I get caught up in the banter.

Happy Christmas all! Here’s to Everton in the cup!

It is much like the narrative on Ole being near the sack when in reality he's actually done well and managers like Arteta, Lampard, and Pep seem untouchable by the media. (Arteta less so in the last 2 weeks, obviously)

Table don't lie. Results don't lie.

3rd. 5 points off 1st with a game in hand.

Title Challengers. Officially.

LOLOLOLOLOL What the actual fuck?!

McTominay is far from a dirty player. In his career he's had 9 yellow cards and 0 red cards. Never had more than 3 yellows in a season. Dirty? What are you on about? Are you just making shit up now?

(Fred has 21 yellows and 2 reds in his career, btw - including 8 yellows in the Prem last season)

He should have been off after 30 seconds against Newcastle last season. He puts in a lot of really reckless tackles. Fred isn’t a particularly disciplined tackler either but I like him better regardless.

This is the foul that McTominay committed in the first 30 seconds where he "should have been off" according to Townie.

Just so everyone knows what townie thinks is a red card offense in one game that makes a player "dirty".

He launched in half way up the players leg with a stud wildly up 30 seconds into the match

Also always the first to throw hands when there’s a skirmish
