WFU Hoops: '21-'22 Roster Construction Thread: +LaRavia/Taylor/Walton/Monsanto/Williams/Sy/Marsh

Allow me to elaborate. If Ody thinks leaving Wake gives him a better chance to improve and reach his full potential, fine. I might disagree but no bad feelings towards the young man.

That’s not what he said. He blamed the fans and the culture, whatever that means. I think Wake fans are great and extremely patient compared to what I see from other, larger, schools. That was entirely unnecessary, and wrong. I hope we play wherever he goes and beat them by 100, and then Forbes talks about how great our basketball fans and basketball culture are, and how our players are really comfortable. And GTFO with the woke culture excuses. He just said the fans suck.

You pulled up the internet, went to the OGBoards, clicked on a thread about the basketball roster, read a discussion about a player who was a relatively key part of that roster leaving and blaming the fan base and "culture," and typed up a response. A short response, but a response nonetheless. So, to answer your question, apparently you do.

The dude really likes Danny Manning and he probably got a little pissy that fans wanted Manning fired. 19-20 year olds are not known for their perspective. It’s dumb to get worked up over this.

It’s a giant safe space if you’re part of the homogeneous majority group. But since it is such a small school, if you are not PFT of that majority group it can be pretty hard to find your crowd compared to a big state school.
Pardon my ignorance, but can someone translate this for me.

Many thanks. I was afraid I wasn't hip to some new abbreviation.

He will probably bring in a couple guys no one is talking about.

One guy I've followed for a couple weeks is Aaron Cook from Gonzaga. Forbes followed him on Twitter shortly after he entered the portal. But who knows.

After reading all the posts, my only comment is that if someone doesn't want to be here; I don't want them here and could care less why they leave.

I don't agree with ever tweeting athletes directly in a negative way.

That said, I agree with the content of the tweet. It's just a REALLY bad look for grown men to call out student athletes for transferring, or for anything for that matter.

Also that said, the Ody transfer bothers me more than Sarr, Chaundee, or any basketball/football transfers for that matter. Only KW3 is on the same level of slap in the face as Ody leaving. KW3 had ZERO P5 offers out of HS and we developed him into a star. Ody wasn't and won't be a star but it's a similar scenario.

To be fair, not sure we "developed" KW into a star as much as he was just a special talent at running back that we don't see at Wake very often. These two transfers are very different scenarios and KW seems like more of a slap in the face when you think about the numbers he put up here and would have continued to put up here being the starter of good football teams.

Ody transfer still makes very little sense when you think about his situation here and his ceiling as player. He would have probably had a lesser role in his final two years at Wake than his first two years and that could have been a factor in his decision. However, his comments about wanting to find a fanbase that really cares about basketball, exc.. makes me think he is ignorant on how passionate our small fan base is and how fanbases work in general. If the fan base was factor in him wanting to find another spot, then we don't need that type of person apart of this program anyway.

Yeah Les' board is about $100 a year and it's the only place that you'll get legit scoops unless you have an immediate source.
