Official 2021 College Football Thread: Grass Picker Named to CFP Selection Committee!

Oregon definitely out coached OSU yesterday. They deserved to win. Was surprised the refs didn’t call targeting on the crown of the helmet hit to Olave’s back late in the game. Almost assuredly would have ended up a tie game (tOSU offense was rolling before they got behind the chains). But OSU’s defense was atrocious so they likely wouldn’t have held Oregon anyways. Kerry Coombs is really bad and will not be the DC next year.

My daughter who has no real preconceived notion about sports really went to her 1st Carolina football game. Her comment upon returning home today was "they are such bad sports"

If you are saying your daughter has no preconceived notion of how awful UNC fans are, then you have failed as a father.

On the other hand, he didn't spread the misery of being a Wake fan.

Wait & take her to a game like in Raleigh where NC State plays against a team like Marshall if you want to see a stadium FULL of bad sports. Buddy of mine went to that game a few years ago because a friend from our area went to Marshall & his nephew was playing for NC State. So he was sitting there just watching the game as neutral as possible. Freaking fights were breaking out all over the stadium and he was getting shit because he was sitting there and not pulling for one team or the other--just watching a pretty good football game during the first half. He had enough and left at half time. Said with those two fan bases it is sad.

So, this was not a really good weekend for the ACC. The conference's biggest win was Pitt over Tennessee by a touchdown, with Tennessee starting QB Joe Milton going out early in the second quarter with UT leading 10-7.

UVa held the ACC banner high with a win over Illinois.

FSU was a disaster.

NC State was terrible.

Miami nearly lost to App State.

BC struggled a little bit with UMass as QB Phil Jurkovec went out early with an injured wrist. Status pending.

The Atlantic may actually look worse than the Coastal, especially if Wake loses to FSU.

Why would us losing to another Atlantic team make the Coastal look worse?

I just read that Carol Folt is the president at Southern Cal. LOL.

NC State lost two key defenders for the rest of the season.

VT lost their stud TE James Mitchell (ACL) and BC QB Phil Jurkovec may be out for awhile with a hand/wrist injury.

Sounds like he's out for the season. RB Donald Chaney at Miami too and a backup CB at UNC. Another brutal weekend for the ACC.
