I know obnoxious, ignorant, bandwagon fans of both teams so I hope both teams come down with food poisoning 20 minutes before tipoff and the diarrhea of the mouth and ass is so bad a hazmat team has to be called in for clean up.

It’s a hard pick…the redneck UNC fans are pretty hard to take, but the redneck dook fans who actually worship that rat faced vampire are far worse. A few days ago, someone on my feed posted a damn manifesto about how she is the greatest and only original, true dook fan on the planet. This idiot drove to Durham from her home in West By God Virginia for Ks last game even though she didn’t have tickets to the game. She hung out in Hogwartz for hours just hoping to catch a glimpse of a Christian Laettner.

So…I guess I’m hoping the holes don’t lose. I hate K and his trolls far worse than I hate Hubert and his pseudo student athletes.

Definitely want UNC to beat Duke, because them winning a championship in K's final year would provide some sort of twisted justification for his ego drenched, everyone kissing his ring, farewell tour. But then UNC lose another buzzer-beater heartbreaker to Nova or Kansas.

This is pretty much spot on, if you live in NC. State fans are pretty harmless, only occasionally dropping the "we have a better team, no idea how we lost to wake in football" every other year. They realize they have taken Wake's spot at the bottom in hoops, and admit Wake has actually had more success in hoops than them in the last 30 years (amazing, really). UNC fans are everywhere, and especially the grads have a sense of entitlement about their education (they think they are the smartest and most intelligent people on the planet, athletics, and anything related to Chapel Hell. They look down their noses at everyone from every other school, while brushing off the fact that UNC athletics cheated for 30 years. It's the smugness that has been on display for my entire life. I think I know 1 Duke grad in my town, and he sometimes seems to care less. Growing up in eastern NC, UNC fans are the majority, and they still are. If they win it all, it will be brutal.
 
It's weird to me how some of us are motivated by their hatred of the fanbases more than their hatred of the people actually playing in the games. Duke, especially in the time when I was a kid, has by far the most hateable collection of players in the history of athletics, and has been coached by the most hateable coach in history.

Just as its weird to me to let players you hated as a kid determine your hatred for current players many years down the road.
Players come and go as do coaches (eventually), but smug, entitled fan bases are forever. And I'm sure Duke has their share, but at least here in NC I'd have to make an effort to identify more than a handful where I live. I can already name Hole fans that I know who will either wear baby blue to church on Sunday (win), or stay home (lose). And some of the the worse ones are the wives who married in to Holedom; their husbands who are alums are for the most part tolerable.

It's funny you say that, when UNC has rolled out so many big white stiffs, and honestly the most hatable player in history, Tyler Hansbrough. Dean whined his way through 4 decades of getting calls, 4 corners, and getting away with academic cheating. I am older, and his image and effect on the game is still fresh in my mind. It's just different perspectives I guess. Putin could be coaching Duke, and I would still want UNC fans to suffer (again I hardly know any Duke fans).

FWIW, I agree with this. I direct more hatred towards Duke’s players over the years than UNC’s, however it’s the opposite for the fans of those two schools.

Funny that you brought up Hansbrough -- so easily hated as a player. I just watched the ACC Tournament Documentary segment (#9 I think) on the years when Hansbrough was playing, and I thought to myself, "I'm going to end up liking this guy after watching this, and it's going to piss me off" because a lot of the players that I did hate when they played, actually either seem likeable in the interviews on that documentary, or at least, demonstrate more redeemable traits than I expected or hoped to find: frankly, a lot of the players came off as self-deprecating, and really appreciative in retrospect, even some UNC and Duke players.

Not the case with Hansbrough. He came off as a big of an entitled douche in the interview segments as he was as a player. The kind of guy that still wants everyone to know that he was a big deal. Made me happy that it's still OK to hate Tyler Hansbrough. What a dick.

This is where I am for the most part. However, I'm not in NC.

HAHAHA! Exactly. The best moments of his life were being the Big Dick in Chapel Hill, for 4 years. And he wants to go back so bad. I swear he travelled every time he touched the ball.
 
I mean how can you not hope that Coach K lost his last game, and last home game to UNC? Fuck UNC but what could be a worse way to go for K than choking on his rivals D?
 
No idea who I want to win, but I think this is going to go the way of the SEC/National Championship in football where Georgia panicked in the SEC Championship, but was the overall better team in the national title game. I see Duke having that kind of bounce back. It's just so much easier to motivate your team after an embarrassing loss. You can say that everyone will be motivated equally bc it's a final 4 game, but Duke had glaring holes (pun intended) in their last matchup that I wouldn't expect to exist this time around.
 
i was on a flight with Hansbrough once and it made me respect what he did because he's not much taller than me

Barkley in person was similar, to a much greater degree

This is spot on for me. uNC has had a few players over the years that I may have liked if they weren't wearing blue. Their fans, to me, are the worst people on the planet. I only know a few Duke fans and they aren't that bad, but I don't think they have ever had a player that I didn't despise. Same with K.
 
I have been taught from birth that there is nothing more despicable in the world than a Tar Heel. Their obnoxiousness is off the charts and if Hubert takes an 8 seed into the title game we will NEVER hear the end of it as long as he is there. K (who I detest) has one game and then he is DONE so we won't have him thrown up in our face everyday on ESPN once he has the stake driven through his heart in the title game. That said, NEVER EVER EVER pull for the heels in anything even if they play ISIS. who proceed to decapitate 15 Christians at center court before the game. After the mess is cleaned up I will yell at the top of my lungs GO ISIS. Besides I went out with a UNC girl once and she gave me crabs! (she was hot and hot to trot but wanting the crabs, I did NOT)
