WFU Hoops: '22-'23 Roster Construction Thread: +Ituka/Carr/Appleby/Bradford

I don’t entirely disagree but I think that’s a massive ask of Monsanto. I hope he’s ready to be Batman but think it’s more likely we find success if has a running mate his caliber

Big ask, I agree, but it's his third year of college ball. If he's the stud we all want/think he can be, then now is the time to prove it. I think he's a 15 ppg guy at minimum, he can hoop.

Third year playing and he redshirted. This is definitely time for him to be a star.

Bradford seems like a decent recruit. He has shown flashes and is large. He understands he needs to lose weight, get into basketball shape and will have a legitimate opportunity to earn minutes. I like the idea of two 7', 250 pound centers sharing the 5. They should both benefit from practice competition and improve as the season progresses. Center could become a position of strength.

Bobi Klintman has some skills and offers good size (6'9", 215 pounds) for a wing. A good fit for this team. Will visit this weekend.

agreed on Bradford as big upside, but any idea where he is in the process of getting in shape? Some students need to take the young man under their wings and do multiple laps around campus/Reynolda gardens daily and shed that weight!

Once he gets on campus I am sure the Wake basketball strength and conditioning staff will diligently work with him to get his body into the best shape it can be. There should be few fast food burgers and fries meals in his short term future. I would guess he already has nutrition plans from them.

They need to hire me as the team nutritionist. I'll do it for free as long as I can eat with the players.

We have 3 guards that will play bulk of the minutes at 6'1. Come on man. Bottom of the ACC period. None of the guys from last year besides Cam have no experience. Teams will shoot over us. Quote this - WE WILL BE BAD AGAIN. Forbes is not a magician. Last year team you had bigs that could stretch the floor, defense on the perimeter, rebounders, wings that could shoot. It could very likely be a 12 win season in my books. He will put a soft non conf schedule this year with maybe 2 teams at most that can hoop.

As far as I'm concerned, Forbes' product last season (coming off the 20-21 campaign) was the work of a magician.

I may have missed it, but any idea when Bobi Klintman is expected to announce?

Klintman seems way underrated for a kid with NBA size and profile who played on a top HS team.

Yeah Klintman is just another one of those players that you hear Forbes and company are high on, then you go watch their highlights and think what in the hell are people thinking to not have him ranked higher? Love it.

Is he a euro big that can shoot?

Klintman is coming to Wake this weekend. He’s down to Wake and Seton Hall, and says he’s not taking any more visits after he comes here. With our additions, and his perfect fit for what we need, it looks good this weekend.

My sense was that his weight issue was more a result of two illnesses and a hip injury vs. laziness. He addressed the need to lose weight in his interview with Les and has already made progress.

If we beat out Shaheen Holloway during his honeymoon period for a recruit, that’s no small victory.
