Army @ Wake Forest - 7:30 PM RSN/Bally

Watching last year's game tonight. I think we roll them on Sat. This game was so uncharacteristic for Army (in a good way). Also, a very fun game to watch when you know your team wins.

Side note, I don't recall our team offering a hand to the tackled runner nearly as much as during this game. Kudos to our guys for the respect to Army.
Yeah I definitely think we go nuts on them tomorrow. This offense is just a machine at the moment and if Clemson/FSU can’t cover our wideouts Army will have very little chance with the personnel matchups. That said, won’t be surprised to see Clawson/Ruggiero lean on the run game if we establish a good margin. Will help run clock and they obviously want to be able to run the ball more effectively as the season progresses.

Yes. The fair game(s) is the annual plight of Yellow Lot D (next to Annex) tailgaters. They include a little blurb in marketing materials and season ticket receipts, but it's easy to miss or forget this information.

However, within the last year or two the ticket office has sold general Yellow Lot season parking passes that do include this weekend, for an extra charge.

In the info that I have seen, you can’t get into the coliseum lot (on Deacon Blvd) unless you have a pre-paid pass. At most games you can pay to get in on game day but not tomorrow

One thing you can 100% count on for Family Weekend:
Parents will wait until right before kickoff to find their seats, and inevitably their seats will be at the complete opposite end of the row, which means back down to the concourse to enter from the next tunnel over.
At least each section now is defined on both ends by an aisle. Some of you will remember the old days when sections were split on opposite sides of the aisle, meaning seats 1-15 and 16-30 would be in two different sections. Now that made for some entertaining people-watching.

That makes sense - so you'd have to enter the Joel lots from University and pay your $20 just like the fair denizens.

Unpopular opinion and neg reps incoming:

I'm not against showing good sportsmanship, but going over the top just because it is Army is a little much. How many tours in Iraq has their RB served? He doesn't have PTSD and he isn't playing on a prosthetic. He is there because not many P5 schools offered and doesn't have a shot at the NFL. It is a good education and he MIGHT go on to be a war hero one day. He is also likely to be just another cake eater until his time is up and he can drive off into the sunset in his charger and get his 10% discounts for the rest of his life.

Saturday he is just a football player like everybody else on the field.

I remember at Homecoming in 2016, The Golden Knights parachuted into our stadium and I just remember thinking in what world does the opponent get to literally invade the stadium?

The cadets were incredibly welcoming on our trip up there several years ago. Nicest I've ever been treated at an opposing stadium, and I'm not sure it's close. It likely helped we had hot girls in sundresses in our group.

Also, the boozy ferry trip up and down the Hudson to get to/from West Point from Manhattan is a must-do.

Well, I certainly agree with not going over the top, but I think you're honoring the uniform and not so much the player wearing it. The service academy teams are like any other team, you've got some really great guys and you've got some not so great guys, but they are all making some level of commitment to the country. I normally will clap when they take the field, but when the ball is kicked they are just another team I want our Deacs to beat.

they are still going to serve in the army for 4 years after graduating right? that's worth a little respect

how often do we have an alum of our opponent open the gate?

Meh, they play football. They didn't get drafted to storm the beaches at Normandy.

I hope the Deacs win by 50.

After graduating.

I don't hate them. I'm just not treating them any different than anyone else.

Actually the graduates of service academies commit to five (5) years active duty and three (3) years reserve time.

The commitment actually comes before starting junior year. Some "step left" and leave at that time.

This also happened to me. I failed to catch that the Army pass wasn't included. I contacted the ticket office and they explained that I wasn't charged for that game in the package (because of the Fair) and that "you can park in the coliseum lot for the game but will have to pay". That being said, with it being a night game along with the fair I won't count on parking there.

Why do they make you pay? The university owns the lot, right?

I respect the military institutions, but wasn’t there quite a bit of noise in the past about dirty play ( beyond cut blocking) from Army and Navy? I don’t think I have heard that recently from Army, but I recollect a reputable source in the Skinner years saying that the players thought Navy was very dirty.
