Garland Appoints Special Counsel to Deal with Trump

So instead of Trump and DeSantis trading blows for 18 months and ruining one another in their respective supporters' minds, Trump will finally be indicted, his supporters will point at Democrats and DeSantis will champion his cause and roll in 2024. Wonderful timing.
 
What’s the last Special Counsel to amount to anything? Starr? Thin as it was, it still lead to impeachment.

No I mean the last one where anything of consequence happened. And Durham is more recent than Mueller and has done jack shit, but that one was always a witch hunt.
 
Mueller’s effect was ultimately constrained by the (mostly) Trump toady AG and his own extreme caution.

The Durham thing was never going to find much to do anything about.

My sense is Garland wouldn’t have made this move if they weren’t already confident they have adequate evidence of crimes to successfully prosecute. Just wanting this mechanism to try and appear less partisan in the prosecution.

Probably…?
 
pretty certain that Trump will get indicted and it will only cause him to play victim even harder than ever as he whips his 30% of the voters into an absolute frenzy.

Didn’t Mueller investigation lead to multiple convictions of Trump associates and $10s of million of money seized?

Super frustrating that the Starr investigation amounted to some dried cum on an intern’s dress which tainted Democrats for 30 years while the Mueller investigation amounted multiple convictions and millions in seized assets which tainted Pubs for 0 days.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. And Pubs got all in a tizzy that Durham would drop the hammer but he’s given them nothing. What I’m saying is that Special Counsels seem feckless and moves by the DOJ to get them off their plate to keep the crazies at bay.
