Official 2022-23 NBA Offseason - Aces win WNBA Finals; Preseason; NBA Fantasy League last call

Yeah. The next Derrick Rose or the next Rudy Gay.

We all recognize this, so the question is whether Hornets management does. Including, apparently, Jordan.

idk about scoot vs miller that much. i dont watch CBB outside of wake anymore and i defintely didnt watch scoot play and dont care enough anymore to dig into the prospects.

i will say most of the nba draft guys i follow have miller over scoot on their boards. kevin oconnor, givony, kevin pelton, even bilas was in the observer today and gave a slight nod to miller over scoot. some of those guys were comparing miller to PG and tatum. however a lot of the general basketball talking head opinion guys, the bill simmons, the russillos, think it's clearly scoot over miller and there are some teams like the pelicans that are absolutely in love with scoot. no idea but i dont think the hornets would be ridiculous to draft either.

i dont care at all about fit, i think scoot and lamelo can play together and i dont really care about millers bad NCAA tourney game #smallsamplesizedeac

You don't care about fit, but the NBA Draft guys do. That's why they have Miller ahead of Scoot. And the Pelicans already have Ingram and other good wings so they want Scoot.

im talking about their big boards, not mock drafts. those guys think miller is a better prospect

Miller and Henderson both faded down the stretch, but evidently Henderson kind of quit early and scouts hate that. That's wild, though, when you compare their relative red flags. I still can't believe Miller is going to be a top-3 pick on Thursday. It's just absurd.

I think they're both talented and worthy, but Henderson's upside is a helluva lot higher in this iteration of the NBA than Miller's imo

I've barely seen most of these guys play, but many of them seem to have the size and profile to stick around for awhile.

Strick, curious who you like in the middle and end of the first.

In the late first, I like Marcus Sasser, Jaime Jacquez, and Max Lewis.

Sasser seems like he's projected too low. He's a baller and I think his skill set will translate. Jacquez is kind of the same way. He's just a baller and if he can make shots, then he'll have a 10+ year career. Lewis has an ideal physical profile, but he's probably too inconsistent to get picked higher than the end of the first. He's the type of player you take a swing on if you're already contending anyway and you don't have any glaring positional needs, imo.

Mid-first is tough because I'm not really plugged in to where guys' draft stocks are anymore. But here goes: In the mid-first I generally like prospects who are physically elite who haven't yet figured it all out. Leonard Miller, Nick Smith, Dariq Whitehead, Jalen Hood-Schiffiano, and Anthony Black all kinda fit that bill for me. These are guys with pretty clear lotto upside imo, but who just weren't consistent enough to guarantee a lotto pick.

What about you?

I was asking you because I don’t know. My team got the obviously #1 pick so I haven’t looked at the draft nearly as much as usual.

Can’t believe Suns turned CP3 into Beal. That is a crazy turn of events from CP3 nearly being waived. Will Beal wear #3?

CP3 is getting paid now, so that’s cool I guess, but damn, I wish he would have taken the vet min with the Suns. Clips reunion makes the most sense. Maybe he finally goes East with Celtics or Heat. Maybe the LeBron reunion actually happens. I highly doubt CP3 stays with the Wizards, there is likely still more CP3 news to come.
After the last two playoff debacles and CP3 at 38 and seemingly always hurt during key playoff time, need to blow some things up.
Just a shame CP hurt his groin with Harden & Rockets in Game 5 of Western finals vs Golden State in 2018 when they were the #1 seed.

I still think it's possible the Hornets trade for Zion between now and the draft.
It makes sense from an immediate fannies in seats perspective. But if he is inflicted with Ayton Disease, won't lose weight and can't stay healthy, then the long term best answer is to stay at 2 and take Scoot.

Zion needs a change of scenery. The Pelican organization is too soft on him. Now the jury is way out on whether the Hornets could toughen him up and get him serious, but it could work. But I am hearing it's still a possibility and that the Pelicans are not as averse to trading Zion as they are saying.

the pelicans would do it. they are in love with scoot. the hornets are the one’s hesitant to pull the trigger.

6-9 guys that can shoot and handle are what everyone is looking for in the NBA. not talking about positional fit with lamelo, but rather positional value… those guys are way rarer than 6-2 guards.
