This is such a classic example of the sheep answer being nearly impossible to come to. The late 1970s were the best modern decade to be born in, because you got to live through the 80s and the '90s, and you were well established by the time you started hitting the rough patches in 2003, 2008, and 2019.

However, all that is complete bullshit egocentrism, because the boomers that were born in the 1950s literally could not fail unless they were giant fucking pieces of shit. 1950s birth was absolute fucking easy mode and it's not even close. We look back and complain about boomers, but they had literally every advantage ever. Quite likely, the best time to ever have born in the recorded history of the world.

I did the same thing. And it feels like that height is the one thing that you couldn't just bootstrap your way out of. I feel like that's why it's the right answer
