Don't blame Key at all, especially how Morin played this season, sans PR. Just add him to the growing list of baffling coaching decisions.
It would have been fine if we had a quarterback and OL who could guarantee a few first downs. More plays means more touches for everyone.Don't blame Key at all, especially how Morin played this season, sans PR. Just add him to the growing list of baffling coaching decisions.

Morin also has been the primary punt return guy the past two years. The other, if I’m not mistaken, was Key.Love Morin but if it comes down to NIL dollars- Banks and Greene are much more important IMO
Coaching staff couldn’t figure out a way to get two of the top 3 receivers both regular touches in the passing game? Not good.Key leaving was not NIL related.
It came down to being THE slot guy between him and Morin. One of the two was going to part ways.
It's over 100 fewer targets for the receivers. That is a lot. They figured out how. They just didn't pick a QB who could execute.
Last season, Wake averaged 75.2 plays a game, 36.4 pass attempts.
This season, Wake averaged 65.8 plays a game, 26.8 pass attempts.
At a 60% completion rate that's 69 fewer catches.
Some changes in the clock were instituted that led to a decrease in plays per game of about 8 plays for each team, trying to speed the games up was reason. Of more importance was the decrease in pass attempts and the fact that most were short passes, result of poor line play and poor qb play, affected our entire offense. They figured out how. They just didn't pick a QB who could execute.

Did the staff choose Morin over Key?
It’s really problematic that we could create a list of players this has happened to.One of the more puzzling things of the Clawson Era is who he has prioritized personnel wise. He often chooses a solid mid over a potential Wake HOF player.
Those plus you could even make arguments for people like Cooley. He barely played last year.I love how DC has a system but we’re not an FCS team or service academy and will have guys once in a while who are talented enough to be the featured player and we need to feed them the rock or they leave - that simple. We’re closer to being Georgia than Army - let’s start acting like it. I’d add Key to the list that includes Newman, KW3, Dortch
is there anybody besides walker?
I think that was a response to the conversation about Clawson picking favorites and not playing obviously better players. What does this mean?
Have others stated they’re leaving? Yes
More to come? Of course
I think this is a factor of prioritizing Mitch in the offense. It seems, just based on eye test, no data, that mooch and kern looked to key a lot more than mitch did. It seems that his eyes were glued to the outside, and key had fewer targets when he was QB.Coaching staff couldn’t figure out a way to get two of the top 3 receivers both regular touches in the passing game? Not good.
