still holding both my POGs and beanie babies.

I think the only things of mine left at my parents, for the grandkids

You'll not be surprised to learn my kits are all neatly bagged and labeled with instruction booklets. Unfortunately they are all generic 90s sets and nothing the kids these days want. Maybe collectors

Had a big old bin of hand-me-down blocks for the creative builds. Couldn't bring myself to dump the kits in the big box

my wife was tired of looking at my lego set so deconstructed it like a month ago. When I built it, it was in like 40 individual small packets, now if I wanna rebuild it it's gonna take me like a year. Very tempted to go on ebay and get those sets I had as a kid that have appreciated like 5x

My memory is imperfect, but most of my knights and pirates are from the smallest sets (like two figures and a little set piece). My bigger sets were mostly fantasy space or NASA?

I remember the space sets, had a few as a kid, would like to get some back, but haven't followed that series much. But I'd assume they're similarly quite valuable.

I mean this bad boy is $125 if you got the box ( I assume you don't) but still valuable without. I like how it still has the price sticker at .75, and now is listed at $125.

Most of the space ones I have are from the next generation. Lots of neon-looking colors and themed collections. Some might have been undersea too.

No boxes, unfortunately, because I wasn't saving them eventually to sell

But just grabbed from home my fine condition original (purple) game boy color

yah I remember the neon ones and stuff as a kid as well. either way, I'd prolly be interested if ya actually wanted to part with any of it

Yeah I was mostly into the space and town/city sets (anything with a boat). I liked when Lego wasn’t all licensed sets.

I don't think I ever had a licensed set, unless you count NASA. What were the earliest ones? Surely there was something before Harry Potter?

Actually, not entirely true. I think I bought a Star Wars one or two toward the end of my childhood.

Previously, I'd built an entire set of star wars characters myself. The best was my Vader: black viking helmet, all black face from the ghost, mechanical chest from idk where, black cape from a knight, and red stick for a lightsaber

I've been thinking a lot about the conversation from a few weeks ago (involving LBE and some others) about whether or not kids these days have diminished opportunities for imagination.

I think LBE's point, if I remember correctly, is that their opportunities just come differently.

My putting together a sick Darth Vader LEGO from six different other kits was an imaginative experience a kid today probably wouldn't have because you can simply buy a pre-designed Vader with a realistic costume and lightsaber. But I guess LBE would say that the kids can still invent stories and stuff
