Romney's Taxes Held Ransom??

Whatever is in his returns must be extremely toxic for Romney to have allowed it to fester for so long.

With the degrees and honors President Obama has, he doesn't need to release any school records. Nice straw man though.

If you want others to think you guys aren't desperate, don't write things like "when Obama releases his college records". Honestly, you are embarrassing yourself, and one step away from birtherism. Don't agree with you on much, but please, have self respect and don't descend to that level.

Did EVERY presidential candidate for the past thirty years put out his college transcript?

How many years did Romney already put out there. He paid taxes, contributed to his church and other charities. What do you want? What does Obama have to hide? I'm not feeling desperate in any way, shape or form. I'm quite confident based on the polls I'm reading.
 
What are talking about? Romney choosing not to cauterize a bleeding wound, means, logically, that the cure is worse than the wound. When the Obama camp started pounding Romney on his tax returns, there was measurable movement in the polls. Why do you think the Romney camp jumped the gun with the Ryan VP announcement? They needed to change the narrative from the tax returns. And your analogy is false-- the clear parallel is Obama releasing the same tax records, which he's done. Has Romney released his grades? Is such a release subject to 30+ years of candidate custom? (No.)

If the Pubs could move the needle with Obama's grades, I'd tell Obama the same thing. Release them, unless you absolutely can't (while demanding Romney's grades in return, of course). But so far, the tax return attack has been relevant (because it's inexplicable for Romney to buck precedent --one followed by his own father, and regarding records he willingly gave McCain last election -- unless he's hiding something) and the other issue hasn't (because grades releases aren't customary, and Romney hasn't done it either).

Mr. Beltway? What?

And yeah, I'm pretty moderate. I plan to vote for three GOP candidates in November, including a governor. But the national GOP has totally lost focus on where moderate lies.

Then I'd advise a bit a wider scope, or else you're self selecting a delusion. Try 538 for starters.
 
He has put less than ANY candidate for POTUS since at least 1980. If he wants to be POTUS act like all the others. If he has nothing too hide act like his father said he should and as all others have.
 
I apologize. You remind me so much of Gergen I can't get past it. And neither side is going to get traction on Romney's taxes or Obama's college records. I'm just playing along. Romney released tax records. You seem to want to do an anal probe. You think he hasn't been audited? Let the IRS comment on the subject and be done with it. What you really want is to show he pays less in taxes than Obama. And he probably does.
 
I wonder if the Romneys brought a bunch of money back into the country as part of an overseas voluntary disclosure program at some point? It's got to be something worse than just paying a low rate. He could spin that as just taking advantage of the deductions available, and that he still pays millions and millions in absolute dollars, etc.

He put out tax records. I'm sure you have a link to someplace that has the statistics on how many years the candidates have put out there. What are you going to learn? He doesn't draw a salary anymore, so he's in the Buffett camp. His earnings are interest and dividends combined with tax sheltered earnings in foundations and charitable giving. Blah, blah, blah. You aren't going to get any traction out of this but it shows the desperation that this is once again a talking point.
 
He released one year. His father released 12 years.
