Wake to Play in the 2013 Carrier Classic?

Interesting how they chose N.C. State over FSU as a "headline" team. I understand that they are supposed to have a better team next year but FSU is the defending ACC Champion.
 
3 ACC and 2 SEC teams in the same tourney. Usually that is avoided.
 
i imagine this will be a one game dealio.

We would have to play UK, UT, Mizzou or Gonzaga.

True but the fanbase following NCSU Basketball >>>>> FSU basketball fans. And that extends on a more national level as well.
 
Got a feeling that this isn't a 'torunament'. Will probably be just 4 games where we'd be paired with KY, Texas or Mizzou.
 
I'd be all for an annual 4 and 4 team event that pits ACC vs. SEC. Make it two games in back-to-back days and that's even better.

I think many years ago, I suggested that Greensboro Coliseum do a Big Four vs. NC schools event in which Wake, Duke, State, and UNC play other teams from NC in a similar format.
 
I am sure we are doing this and Atlantis. This is just one game.
 
The only way that this would be worth doing is if we can toss Bz off the side of the boat somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

I think it was a case of someone leaking a wish list way early. On the State board, they have tweets from Mark Gottfried and their SID saying they had not been contacted by the Carrier Classic. Probably the same situation with UK and us.
 
Maybe they will invite us by painting up a torpedo with Bzz's face on it to honor our program. The Buzzpedo is the Fat Man and Little Boy of the college basketball world.

Could also be a case of the schools not being allowed to discuss the tourney until the entire field has signed on the dotted line.
