Are there any current or former vegetarians/vegans on this board?

dude you're from the northeast, you should know this.... nc winters aren't remotely as harsh as the northeast, and the summers are slightly worse.

:wtftard:

wow, palma. you just clearly have no idea. :rulz:

As I said, i'm always right.

Where I grew up (Philadelphia and 500 miles north) has a higher average low in the winter and colder average high in the summers than winston Salem, NC. This doesn't even get into the humidity argument.

Philadelphia:

Winston-Salem

New York City

Now I just think you're all just making this a meme, cause you all can't be this wrong this consistently. Perhaps the first sign of no SAT? Or are you just in that much of a denial about how much winston sucked?

Philadelphia also has a higher average low in the summer.

You best be trollin'.

http://www.weather.com/weather/wxcl...2=Winston-Salem, NC&clocid1=USPA1276&clocid2=

Winston Salem January Low: 28
Philly Low: 26

Winston Salem July High: 89
Philly High: 87

North = Colder. South = Warmer.

Why am I even responding to this?

The same website gives two different sets of data for winston, as shown above. Either way the data in winters is very close, which means given the similar humidity between the regions the hotter summers make it worse exponentially. Stick to building bamboo huts in your spare time, jackass.

you've gotta be kidding. i've spent the majority of my life up and down the east coast (nc, summers in fla, ct, philly, and md), living in dc and nyc. the winter from DC and up are exponentially worse than nc.

probs need a palma's a n00b tag here, folks.

Palma will be rj in two years. Not meant to be offensive to either poster, just an observation.

Last year, we prepared 2 pots of chili at the same time. One (chili #1) was prepared with locally grown beef and sausage from an area farm that says their animals are not fed steroids, etc and their diet is organic. The other (chili #2) was the leanest beef and sausage that you can find at Harris Teeter. Other than the meat, everything else was identical.

While cooking we noticed a huge difference. Chili #1 had significantly less grease and other fat. We then fed both pots to family members. The overwhelming response was that chili #1 had more flavor.

We ended up with leftovers of both chilis. Chili #2 had a major orange film on it of fat. Chili #1 had a slight film but not so much.

This is true. Whenever I eat eggs from my cousin and his wife's farm, it is literally the best egg ever. Way better than regular eggs and even a difference from organic eggs sold Fresh Market, these are still good though. Can't beat locally grown/raised.

We've gone modified vegetarian. We are eating a plant-based diet with a small portion (1/4 portion)of chicken or fish a couple of times a week. I just basically lost my taste for meat after reading a book on the conditions under which cows, chickens and hogs were raised in this country.

Have you ever heard of mad cow disease you moron? You can easily get better protein sources from leaner proteins. And it's kind of ironic that your profile pic is of a vegan so suck on that douche.

Mad cow? That's the best you can come up with?

I ate beef a few times a week in the UK while going to school at Cambridge in 03, and I'm fine. I mention this as anecdotal evidence, but it also proves that I've been smarter and healthier than you for a long time.

I think your public school brain is struggling with these complex concepts. Actually, farming might be your ceiling, which might suit your malnourished lifestyle just fine. Luckily, assuming you graduate, you will likely have many fellow alumni that will be resigned to the same station, so you guys can trade secrets.

^ Is that really the best you can do?

I'm well-nourished and plenty happy considering I've saved a shit ton of money by going to a public school, doesn't take away from my love for Wake.

Your private education obviously didn't serve you well considering your hero would laugh at you for making fun of vegans, since he is one himself.

You don't deserve to rock Andre as an avatar/username, he is way above your intellect and obviously way more awesome.

Continue trolling somewhere else.

Vegans are insufferable, as evidenced by PirateDeacon militantly attacking TAB. Offer a sensible opinion as a carnivore, and vegans freak out. Had a vegan chew me out about how KFC chicken technically isn't even chicken. I tried telling her that I don't eat at KFC, but that didn't matter.

^ What's even funnier is that I'm not a vegan and I mentioned this at the beginning of the thread. I didn't attack him, he attacked me and so I responded accordingly. No reason to get upset at someone who is interested in health, some of you are so soft it's hilarious.

Pirate.

I see you are new here by your low post count. I'm not hating, just making an observation. You've also mentioned you're still in school... which makes you one of the younger posters. Some things to keep in mind:

a. you've gotta let 90% of comments slide, especially until you get a flavor of who people are as posters.
b. you really don't need "^" at the beginning of your posts. it's a given you're responding, most people know what you mean.
c. when people smell weakness (ie: a penchant to overreact (or react at all) to direct comments/attacks), they attack en masse and without mercy.
d. you will always, always catch flak for going to ECU, no matter how big of a deacon fan you are.
e. you can't talk ill of MSD. ever. we can because we went, so it's ok... kind of like how only your sibling is allowed to call you that annoying nickname.

...carry on.

Just become a mod and you're good though, any mention of your collegiate whereabouts will result in a swift and powerful retribution.

Only if the person making such a mention is a giant noob.

Plus it helps not to include any sign of loyalty to your other school of choice in your username/avatar.

A.) I'm "new" to this specific board but not the old deacon board.

B.) Point taken

C.) I think this is all fun, I would never get upset over what someone said on a message board. That doesn't mean that I won't make fun of people and I expect the same to come my way.

D.) Good, ECU deserves to be made fun of.

E.) After growing up in Winston and having known plenty of people who went to Wake, I can comfortably make fun of Wake. Wake has a lot of quirky folks and if you can't laugh at that then I'm sorry.

i can, because i went there. they are my people.
i grew up around plenty of UNC/NCSU folks and know plenty who went there... but i know anything negative i say regarding either of them will be seen as an attack and put them on the defensive, whereas the same comment out of one of their mouths is totally acceptable. just know you're in the outsiders' boat.

If I went to ECU I would be eating as many things as possible that are loaded with antibiotics and other chemicals to kill off all the STDs that are bound to riddle your body by attending their.
