If you could do an ESPN 30 for 30, what would it be?

Just popped into my head. I was a huge Bob Gibson fan and would like to see his 1.12 era season. That still amazes me.

Also, anything about Hank Aaron.

The real story about steroids with Jose Canseco/McGwire/Bonds/Sosa, et al.

Selfishly, anything with a Wake angle would be great but not sure what it would be. Duncan's story from swimmer to all-world is reasonably well document and he's as straight as an arrow.

If it had to have a Wake angle, I would go with Rodney Rogers.

"They were good for a while"-The Rise and Fall of Wake Athletics.

Thorp and how he slimed unc through what should have been a massive beat down from the NCAA. I would show everything, and have a 5th grade class blog it so the team could follow.

I would absolutely love to see a 30 for 30 on the politics behind Virginia Tech and Miami to the ACC thus setting into motion the entire changing of the landscape of college conferences and sports.

If it were a Wake angle, I think I'd go with Piccolo.

I remember them talking about the first black player coming into Groves stadium and the crowd booing, and Pic going up and putting his arm around him to shut up the crowd. Then you obviously have the Brian's Song angle, and you could update it with all of the information about the Piccolo foundation his reserved parking spot, etc.

Non Wake: I'd like to see Charlie Ward going from Heisman trophy winner to NY Knicks point guard or Warrick Dunn having his mother shot, coming back for a chance at a title and then his efforts for single mothers.

I think they're making one on Bo Jackson, but that'd be my choice

History of the ACC Tournament

Rise and Fall of the Charlotte Hornets

Rae Carruth (seriously)

Religion in Sports (several angles to take this: Tebow, Shareef Abdul-Rahim, Ali, BYU, etc.)

Unionization of Sports (maybe narrow it down to a particular strike or sport)

Life and Legacy of Skip Prosser

These are pretty good. I'm not a huge hockey guy but I'd be interested in a look at the early 80's Oilers with Gretzky, Messier, and so on. Those teams put up absurd scoring numbers.

They touched on that with King's Ransom

I think you could do one called "Asterisk" about doping and sports records. 9.79 and the Marion Jones one touched on it, but McGwire/Sosa/Bonds would be interesting. I would make a stand alone one about the Rise and Fall of Lance Armstrong, just generally assessing his legacy as hero or villain.

The Curse of the Nut Punch.

3 Yards and a Cloud of Dust-Woody Hayes.

Tobacco Road (history of the Big 4 focusing on how Tobacco money helped shape the ACC).

Nike, Inc (showing how Nike has shaped the sports world).

Chicago Black Sox.

Danny Almonte.

Cheater Hill-UNC Scandal.

The Shark. (Greg Norman's life as a top golfer/#1 player in the world, choke jobs, bad luck, and prosperity).

ESPN would never touch it, but Mike Leach v. Craig James would be must see TV.

I'd love to see one on how wars have affected sports and some notable athletes.
