Vandy @ Wake (+11.5) 3:30pm ESPNU

ND definitely took their foot off the gas against us.

Never seen a team call a timeout to get seniors out at the first opportunity in the 4th quarter.

Man.....double digit dogs to VANDY? Knew we were bad, but that puts the season into perspective.

Wow. Never thought I'd see that especially playing for a bowl bid.

This will be uglier than the ND game.

The line would be 20 on a neutral field based off Sagarin and 17 with us at home. Vandy is 7-4 and having a pretty good season.

Grobe's record with 5 wins.

Years in which there is a dash we didn't get to 5 wins or didn't play a game after getting to 5 wins. Don't think this is particularly interesting or different than what we'd expect looking back. Just answered my own question and thought others may want to see it. Record with 4 wins would probably be much worse.

2001 - 1-1 (L Georgia Tech, W Northern Illinois)
2002 - 1-1 (L Florida State, W Navy)
2003 - 0-3 (L UNC, UConn, Maryland)
2004 - ---
2005 - ---
2006 - 1-1 (L Clemson, W NC State)
2007 - 1-0 (W UNC)
2008 - 1-0 (W Virginia)
2009 - --- (5th win in last game vs. Duke)
2010 - ---
2011 - 1-3 (L UNC, Notre Dame, Clemson, W Maryland)
2012 - 0-2 (L NC State, Notre Dame)

Record with 5 wins: 6-11

so it's going to be 40 out around gametime? I'm expecting a crowd of about 3469 people by the time the 3rd quarter rolls around.

Camp's dad said the players and coaches continue to work their tails off to improve each and every week.

I understand the frustration with a lousy season. Have not watched any of the Wake games, so the ranking of 118/120 on offense pretty much tells me all I need to know. However, Wake is one game from a bowl, and Vanderbilt is coming off a huge win over UT. I am sure Franklin and his staff were inundated with solicitation calls all week across college football nation. Given all of this, the Vanderbilt pessimist in me cannot help but think that we are still Vanderbilt, and even James Franklin does not have the power to reverse our karma in just two years (He has proven me wrong.) So, never count a bunch of kids out until the game is played.

That said, my re-occuring nightmare this week is that Franklin was never hired and Bobby Johnson is back as HC. Grobe owned Johnson's ass. You all need to lobby Clemson to hire him as their HC.

We have seven healthy offensive linemen and at least three of them don't know how to play the position they're in. It's going to be an ugly game. I'm going anyway because that's what I do but my expectations are zilch.
