I really enjoy watching the secondary events, particlualry on Sunday. Guys on the way up/way down in their careers have given us some good finishes and back-stories. Nice to have a viewing option if The Heritage ends up with a yawner finish, which could happen if Scheffler actually takes this...

Your analysis is not wrong as it relates to high school sports. For years I was associated with a powerhouse high school football program that defintiely made a profit, which in large part helped fund other sports at the school.

I totally get what you're saying. It's like if your favorite band starts releasing uninspired pablum, or your go-to restaurant changes from fresh ingedients to frozen. You still care about what used-to-be, but the level of current interest/support/passion is a shadow of what it once was.

OTOH, un-pretentious is living out in the sticks on a dirt or gravel drive a hundred yards or so from the main road, and buying a 2nd-hand golf cart from the local muni. Then you ride it out to the mailbox, and spend 10 minutes going thru every piece of mail before riding back to the house.

Same here; even at like 99% there was still sufficient light that the other 1% was enough to putt out on 18 if you wanted to. And the difference between say 95% and 100% was like.....wait for it......night and day. That really surprised me.
