I dont think the antipathy was duke toward wake. Sounds like the previous staff felt it towards duke. Frankly, Duke probably doesn't care that much about wake's championship other than thinking "if lowf can do it, so can we."

This reflects a problem with expectations held by wake fans. Most people on this board spent the last year obsessing about what Giles would do for the Wake program and expected Giles to feel the same way/care to the same degree as devout wake fans did. Far less time was spent realistically...

Still no one has rationally explained how choosing Duke is a "bad" decision. It may be a bad outcome for Wake, but it ain't a bad decision for a high school kid.

Please explain to me how going to an elite program that just won a title, to play a legend, with other great players, at a top academic institution...is a bad decision.

I know the storyline has been that manning will set up giles best for the nba, but why? History certainly hasn't proven that true. None of his kansas players have become great nba bigs. In 2006, the state of the acc was slightly different. Wake played #23 Ga tech in the ACC championship game in 2006. Duke played #1 Florida State, eventual national champion, in the ACCCG in 2013. Big difference in opponent.

Not really sure the "draft positions have suffered" argument really works considering wake hasn't really been putting out one and dones and danny manning's bigs from Kansas haven't exactly found great success in the league.

The likelihood that Giles comes back to campus for a second weekend in a row is pretty low. He moved his UNC OV because he had a conflict "according to his coach". He doesn't really have "an open weekend". I doubt his conflict is visiting wake again. Expecting him to be at wake again is just not...

To play devils advocate here, this seems like it's a bit outdated as a knock on duke, considering the last few years.
