Um, I wasn't saying put Superman in a different costume, um. Just saying it worked for X-Men. Um.
Then your point was pointless.

Can you provide one example of a bad costume dooming a superhero movie? Bad superhero movies are bad because they're bad. Not because of bright-colored costumes.
The nipple suit dominated the hype for this movie and it was doomed before people realized that it sucked.
I said bad costumes in X-Men in 2000 could have doomed superhero movies. X-Men jumpstarted the genre 3 years after Batman & Robin. It probably would have been dismissed if they had stuck too closely to the costumes.
It was important for this genre to be seen as legitimate action fare, especially without an established character like Batman.
X-Men was absurdly popular among people who follow comics, not among a mainstream audience.
Probably closer to being true.
But I never read any of the comics but I was a big fan of the X-Men from the animated series...that stuff was awesome.
You know, for such a badass character wolverine really does have one of the stupider superhero costumes.
<--------- obviously, I am a Wolverine fan.
Sure those variants are better but the idea of that headgear and boots on a real human is just silly.
